Local Norton Identity Safe program loops

I want to export my Identity Safe data to .csv.  I cannot open my local Norton Identity Safe program.  Loops/locks up and will not accept characters in the password field. I finally killed the program using Windows Task Manager.  Log in to web-based Norton account and Identity safe works. So.... how do I back up my identity safe data, and how do I get the local program to run?
Windows 10 Home 64 Bit Version 1703
OS Build 15063.674
Norton Identity Safe 2014.7.11.42

Re: Local Norton Identity Safe program loops

It appears you are using the Stand Alone version of ID Safe, IDSS. Do you also have a Norton Security product installed? If so, your problems may be related to having both.

Have you restarted your computer?

Re: Local Norton Identity Safe program loops

Thanks for the response.  Yes, I have Norton Security installed as well.  Now for the fun part.  I checked for updates on Windows, Norton, restarted the PC multiple times, and finally became too frustrated and contacted Norton Support.  With the LogMeIn session running, I attempted to duplicate the problem, and IT WORKED.  So, my issue is solved, I have a backup of my security data, and I have NO idea why it was not working, and then started to work again.   Computers!

Your answer may be in your last post.

I checked for updates on Windows, Norton, restarted the PC multiple times

The restarts along with any updates may have brought everything back in line.

Going forward, you may still see issues as long as you have both a Norton Security product with ID Safe and the Standalone ID Safe. The two versions can conflict occasionally, causing strange behavior. It is best to remove the Standalone version. It will not affect your vault as the vault is stored online. Look in Windows Control Panel Programs and remove Identity Safe.

Also be aware the standalone version is no longer available or supported by Norton.
