malicious web site notice

Why do I have to turn off safe web and identity safe in order to sign into my credit card account. I get a malicious web site warning. I have been using this site for a number of years.

Hello k1benson

If you can give me the details of the bank involved, I should be able to get it checked out by Safe Web.

Have a Good Night and

Thanks.

Hello k1benson

Are you getting the blockage when you land onto that site  or when you are signing in? I just went to that site, but I am using IE 11 and Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.

What browser and Windows and device are you using?

Thanks.

Re: malicious web site notice

I am using Firefox 57 on Windows 10 on a laptop. It happens when I go to that site the first time and sign in. The next time when I go to that site after a few seconds the warning shows up. The first time, I had flushed the cache prior to going to that site.

Re: malicious web site notice

I think the problem is with Firefox 57 and Norton. I do not have the problem with IE 11.

Re: malicious web site notice

All: I have to ask, the thread states "Norton Core". In what way is Core an issue other than the tag for security score? If the site in question could be a false positive please go here to have a review done if Core is blocking it:

Please read the following concerning FF48 and higher with the Norton extension: https://support.norton.com/sp/en/aa/home/current/solutions/v115161915_EndUserProfile_en_us

Re: malicious web site notice

I'm not sure what this has to do with my question.

Re: malicious web site notice

k1benson, you said earlier you do not have the issue with IE11 but also said:

I am using Firefox 57 on Windows 10 on a laptop / Why do I have to turn off safe web and identity safe in order to sign into my credit card account

Thus the link for FF. Assuming again that you have the FF, do you have the Norton extension installed for FF? In the link below, it states "Norton Identity Safe feature is no longer available in the Norton Security Toolbar".

 https://support.norton.com/sp/en/aa/home/current/solutions/v115161915_EndUserProfile_en_us

And since you put this thread into the Norton Core forums area and with the label of "Security Score" I assume you are a Norton Core owner.  I referenced the site where IF Core is giving you an issue with this site to review it here: http://sitereview.bluecoat.com/sitereview.jsp

Hope that helps!!

Cheers

Re: malicious web site notice

I do not own a Norton Core router. I put this in the Norton Security community. How It got into the Core community, I don't know. My problem is with Firefox and getting the malicious web site warning.

Re: malicious web site notice

Hello

I can bring this to the attention of the Safe Web Team and see if they can help with this. Usually if a site is malicious according to Safe Web, it would be malicious for all the browsers that are covered by Norton.

I will also ask to have this thread moved to the Toolbar Forum since Core is not involved with this.

Thanks.

Re: malicious web site notice

@k1benson The screenshot above appears to be your Norton product producing the malicious threat therefore Safe Web with floplot is your answer to have this reviewed. Although, you don't have Core as your router I had its services review the URL just the same to see what results they'd return. Here is their reply:

Based on your recommendation and after careful evaluation of the Web content submitted, a Web Content Analyst has recategorized this URL as Financial Services.

Re: malicious web site notice

Hello

I have submitted this to Safe Web and will see what they say about this. They are off for the weekend and don't know if they are off for Christmas. There should be a response either on Sunday night or Monday night.

Have a Good Day and

Thanks.
