Many icons and buttons became invisible

I have Norton Security working under Windows 10. Some time ago many buttons and icons (including standard window controls - closing and minimizing the window - and buttons controlling a scan) became invisible. They work if I can guess where they are, but this is very inconvenient. Is there some way to fix this?

Care to elaborate? I are you talking about the main Norton program? Can you post a screen shot?

Restarting Windows 10 fixes a similar issue for me. Not sure what causes it.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

It seems that some elements are missing in all windows. I attach a screenshot of the main window. My Norton is Russian-speaking. :(  I hope, this will not be too confusing.

Restarting does not help in my case. The effect is, unfortunately, very well reproducible.

Sorry. My post was about a Windows issue.

Check that you have the latest graphics drivers for you computer's video.

You might need to get a fresh install of your Norton product. Easiest way to do this is with the Norton Removal and Reinstall Tool from   www.norton.com.nrnr

Be sure you read the before you begin section, and run LiveUpdate manually a few times, restarting as necessary, until no updates are available.

So your problem is with the main GUI of Norton. Not Windows explorer or icons. Looks like a graphics issue to me. Are you using a laptop with integrated and a separate GPU? I was having an issue as well as many others about the main Norton GUI flickering. Which turned out was only happening when the graphics was running under the Nvidia graphics. Switched it to the integrated Intel and no issues.

I am using laptop with NVidia GeForce 9200M GS. Thank you. I will check for the latest driver. An thank you for the advice on the best way of reinstalling Norton. I will probably do it. After all, Norton worked without problems for a long time.

Ok this is what you need to do. Enable the system try icon in the Nvidia Control panel. That will tell you which programs are using the Nvidia processor and which ones are not. If you see Norton using the Nvidia processor then go into the Nvidia Control panel and change the Norton exe to use the integrated graphics only. You may need to reboot after. Latest drivers still have the issue. For some reason Norton wants to use the Nvidia processor and not the integrated one.
