Microsoft Edge compatibility

Hi There,
I would prefer to  to use Microsoft Edge, however, Norton isn't compatible with it but it is with Google Chrome, which I don't like. My Norton has just been renewed, but, I'm not sure if I want to stay with it unless this situation is going to change.
Is this situation likely to change, or, as I suspect, I'll have to look elsewhere for something that is compatible with Microsoft Edge? Please advise.
Regards
Dave

Re: Microsoft Edge compatibility

Hello Davey

Microsoft is the one who is holding up the development of Norton Extensions for Edge. Everything is set, but Microsoft has to create and allow extensions which can be used by any Security Company. You will not find any security company out there who has any direct support. Microsoft has released only 22 extensions so far. Please take a look at the Extension store and you will see what extensions have been released,

I read in some newsletter that Microsoft considers its own security program as the best, so they are in no hurry to release anything that can be used by a security company.

Thanks.

Re: Microsoft Edge compatibility

Hello

That will totally be dependent on Microsoft.

Thanks.

Re: Microsoft Edge compatibility

I disagree with the part about no security companies being on the Microsoft extensions list. True Key from Intel (McAfee) has been there for about a month and a half. There is also a password manager called LastPass with an extension. While I agree that Microsoft was the holdup, they are no longer. There may be a holdup on the toolbar, but why not have an extension for Identity Safe?

Re: Microsoft Edge compatibility

Based on information Microsoft has provided to date, several browser-based protection and identity features that are provided in Norton products are not compatible with Edge, including Identity Safe, Norton Toolbar, Safe Search, Safe Web, Antiphishing, and Scam Insight.
Microsoft has indicated that it will continue to improve Edge and will allow more browser extensions in the near future.
We are investigating alternative ways to deliver these features for Microsoft Edge. In the meantime, we encourage customers using Norton security products to use Internet Explorer or other supported web browser like Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox* to enjoy these features. Re: Microsoft Edge compatibility

Hello

LastPass is not a security program. It's all dependent on Microsoft. They are still the ones holding up things. They are both just password managers. Intel- the new owners of McAfee has a special deal with Microsoft as well as the maker of Last Pass.

Thanks.

Re: Microsoft Edge compatibility

Was notified of & installed a Microsoft Windows 10 upgrade (with new features!) yesterday, May 28, 2017, & updated Norton Internet Security, etc.

Microsoft Edge now notes it allows extensions and lists a number of available 'apps' including Norton Identity Safe & Norton Studio as free apps from Store.

Are other Norton Security extensions - toolbar, safe search, etc. - to be included soon as well?

Thanks for all Norton & Community does for us.

Re: Microsoft Edge compatibility

Hello

Norton is investigating the ability to have Safe Search etc. Sorry, don't know what the results will be.

Thanks.
