Microsoft Outlook will not Receive

Running Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit, fully updated; Microsoft Office 365; Norton Security w/ BU

Everything was running just fine. No recent changes made to system.[except for the Windows 10 "nag notice" in my taskbar which appeared about the time this issue started]

Sometime, maybe Sunday night or Monday morning, my Outlook program would not receive mail [from a POP3 server]. Error code: '0x8004210A' [Outlook Error]. All day on Monday I could not retrieve my mail. I contacted my ISP and was no told that there was mail on my server that Outlook was not downloading. I have no other Internet-related issues.

So, I turned off NS e-mail scanning. No mail. Turned of NS anti-spam. Voila. Mail received. I thought maybe a NS update had broken something, so I ran a manual Update & a couple of things installed - don't know what. I turned the NS features on again and I still received mail, so I figured those updates fixed the problem.

Early this morning [Tuesday], all was still working. Then, suddenly, not. I turned off the anti-spam. No good. Turned off the e-mail scanning for 15 min. Mail flowed. After 15 min, scanning turned back on and mail STILL flowed. I have left the ant-spam feature off.

What's up?

Re: Microsoft Outlook will not Receive

Hello

You can check what Norton Updates installed by looking at Live Update in the History Logs. Click on Security History>scroll down to Live Update> More and you will see something like this.

In that same dropdown, you can check for Email Errors also. Perhaps a setting in your Office 365 got messed up also or a new update there. If it works like my Office 2013 click to run is supposed to run, you can get updates at ay time. Hope this helps.

Please come back and let us know how you made out. Thanks.

No settings were messed up. It required me to uninstall NS and then re-install. Don't know why or what happened, but that resolved the issue.

Spoke too soon ... after several days of working fine, Outlook 365 stopping receiving mail again. Shut off Norton Anti-Spam and the problem went away again.

I think that there is an issue here.

Hello

I have anti-spam disabled as I use my ISP's spam detector. What comes thru it, I just delete without opening them.
