MULTIPLE 'SEARCH ENGINES' e.g..IE, EDGE, CHROME, BING, ONE???

Hello, I am pretty dense with IT as you will gather. I am reaching out for help to try to understand what add ons? Extensions, I should use.

I appear to have several options for browsing/ searching, (are they the same thing?), on my PC.

Eg: MS BING, MS EDGE, ONE, INTERNET EXPLORER, GOOGLE CHROME.

I Also have Norton 360 + Lifelock  application.

Do I need to add Norton protection separately to each of these, as I get messages from Windows security sometimes telling me I am not protected also sometimes from Norton.

I absolutely avoid Google anything where I can as I find Google too intrusive. Mainly using Internet explorer which I like, but also Microsoft which opens on the windows start button.

NORTON 360 Windows 10

Regards

@IATEBSAANAERIAL

You asked - browsing/ searching, (are they the same thing?)

A web search engine is a software system designed to search for information on the World Wide Web. The search results are generally presented in a line of results often referred to as search engine results pages (SEROs). ... Some search engines also mine data available in databases or open directories.

What is Web browsing app?
Your browser is a software application that lets you visit web pages on the Internet. Popular browsers include Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Internet Explorer. Currently, Google Chrome is the most widely used browser in the world, and is also considered one of the fastest and most secure.

Please see if the following provides the info you seek on regards to Norton:

https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/norton-security/22.19.9.63/solutions...

In addition there are additional Browser extensions that may be required in each browser in order to provide protection.  Hopefully others will add additional info to this response concerning each individual browser and their extensions.

Re: MULTIPLE 'SEARCH ENGINES' e.g..IE, EDGE, CHROME, BING, ONE???

Hello 'yank', thanks for responding and sharing your expertise.

I am clearer now on Browsers, of which I have three, each available on one click.

I have followed your Norton link, but will need to try those options, when I have calm, quiet time to do so, as my brain functions very slowly nowadays.

I will leave the query open for now, until I am sorted.

Thanks again
