In My Account - Why does it say Trial under Devices for 2nd PC

Hello All

Today I downloaded Norton Security on my PC and my husband's PC. I had already purchased a 'key' from a retail store.

Now looking in My Account under 'Devices', 'Services Installed' shows the key number for MY computer but under my Husband's computer it says 'Trial'.

Now if I look under 'Services', it shows that 2 out of 5 seats are used, for my PC and my husband's PC and beside them it says 'remove licence'.

My question is, Is the Norton Security on my husband's PC actually some sort of 'trial' download that will suddenly stop protecting his PC?

I don't like this interface that Symantec has now, I find it very User Unfriendly. Sorry if my question is silly but I can't ever recall seeing 'trial' beside HIS PC before. I downloaded to my PC first, then his.

Anyhow, thanks for any advice you can give on this

I and a couple of other users have been trying to assist another users with what appears to be a similar problem to the one you have, our suggestions have made no difference.

I think it may be best if I ask one of the Norton Employees to have a look at your difficulties to advise on step to solve the problem before asking you to go through various steps which may not help.

In the meantime would you just check that Remote Management is turned on for your husband's computer you can find the setting from the main Norton window by clicking Settings>Administrative Settings where you will find Remote Management, I believe it is turned off as default.

Can you please also let us know what Windows O/S is installed on each of your computers and check that the Norton Security version is 22.5.2.15 which can be found from the main Norton window by clicking on Help the hovering over About.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

I just checked under My Account and my husband's Norton Security is no longer showing as a 'trial', but it shows with the product 'key'.

I didn't do anything from when I first posted, and he didn't do anything either. So I don't know why it updated.

We are both running Windows 7 Prof 32 bit machines and we have the latest Norton Security v 22.5.2.15

I'll show this thread as 'solved'. Maybe just one of those little glitches that happen every so often?? However, I will be keeping an eye on the status of both of PCs and if one of them reverts to 'trial', I'll be back.
