Need help restoring Internet Explorer and Outlook information

My wife recently had the hard drive replaced on her computer and had to restore the data files and reinstall Microsoft Office.  She has recovered the data from Norton Online Backup, but we need help finding out how to put the data in the right place so that she can get her bookmarks back into Internet Explorer and her contacts, folders, and saved e-mails back into Outlook.  Her operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium.  Microsoft Office version is 2010 and since the computer came back Internet Explorer version is IE9.  However, I am pretty sure it was an older version of Internet Explorer before the crash because the IT department at the community college she teaches at as an online instructor advises against using Internet Explorer with Blackboard Learn, the course management system she uses.  How do we get the data from the backup into the right spots in Outlook and Internet Explorer so that she can use her bookmarks, contacts, and Outlook folders?

Re: Need help restoring Internet Explorer and Outlook information

Hello

Have you reached out to Tier 1 via www.norton.com/chat for assistance? They should be able to provide the basic guidance you need. If they are unable to assist let me know and we'll take alternative action.

Re: Need help restoring Internet Explorer and Outlook information

Also can you help clarify a couple of points please:

  • Are the user profiles between the prior setup of Windows and the new one precisely the same? Specifically the username chosen.
  • Did you opt to restore files to the original location, with overwrite, if the answer to the first question is yes?
