Re: new vault on firefox

The ID Safe extension is not found on the Norton Toolbar. It is an icon at the right side of the address bar in FF.

If you do not see this icon, the extension is not installed or it is disabled. Check your extensions and see if you have the ID Safe extension. If it is just disabled, enable it and restart FF.

If you do not see the extension, click on Get Addons on the left of the Add Ons screen, and search for Norton Identity Safe. Then install the extension from there.

Another note. Even though your are signed into a vault from the old Norton Toolbar in IE or Chrome, you will still have to sign in again with the FF extension. Norton is aware of this issue.

Yes, there are problems using No Script and AdBlock Plus. We hope these incompatibilities will be resolved in future updates.

Re: new vault on firefox

Well here we are about a year later & still NO ID safe for Firefox. Boy them Mozilla tech/programmers are sure smart. They have sure gotten one over on the Norton boys hands down.

All I get now after the last update is a request to sign-in (all ready sign-in don't cha know) that never goes any wear. You can put in the tool bar but NO ID safe. Thank God for Last Pass, because

all I get from Norton is " sorry for the inconvenience"

Norton is aware of the issue where if you are signed into your vault from the old Toolbar in IE or Chrome, the new FF extension does not recognize it, and you have to log in again.

As for not being able to log in, do you use No Script or AdBlock Plus?  Again, this is a known issue. With ABP, you can just disable the EasyPrivacy filter to get The FF extension working.

If you have not seen the announcement on the Pre Release version of the extension, you can check it out here

Hello BigCat

Please read Announcements and Blogs to keep up to date on information. You can subscribe to them so that you get an email when something is posted. ID Safe has been around since the beginning of Sept. although not finished yet.

Thanks.

Re: new vault on firefox

Perhaps I have not made myself clear on this matter. First I am only referring to "Mozilla/Firefox" only not IE or Chrome, only FF.

Next I have downloaded & read the new exten. 3 times. I turn on my safe first each time I start the computer, when I click the ID safe symbol at the top right all I get is a page that tells me to sign in to my ID safe page & the turning wheel but that's it.
And yes I have turned off AB.

So all I can see that Norton has fixed is there is now a symbol for the ID safe at the top of the FF opening page.

Re: new vault on firefox

How are you 'turning on your safe' when you start the computer? If it is by some other means than with FF, then it is the issue I described above about having to log in multiple times. You will also be logged out every time you close FF.

Re: new vault on firefox

Well after the computer boots I click on my Norton program icon & it opens. Next I check for any updates (do NOT want it on auto). Next I move to the ID heading & it opens with a icon that said ID safe, I click on it & it opens the safe sign-in for my PW, I put that in & wall-a the safe opens & I go on about my business.

Well that is about as graphic as I can get for you. Except to say that when I open IE it is already on but not in FF.

And that is what I have been trying to explain to you a couple of times now. It does not matter where you have signed into your vault, if it was not using the new FF extension, you will have to sign in from the FF extension.

Norton is aware of this, and it will hopefully be fixed in a future update.

Re: new vault on firefox

Ok, enough is enough. I have tried & retried all of the “advice” offered here even though I had already done it.

That said, it still does not work on “FF” (and I don’t care how you sign-in) so while I thank you all for your input I am done with this Norton problem & this discussion.

I will just go back to my McAfee & Last Pass that works.

Re: new vault on firefox

Last Pass works with Norton as well. Be sure to choose your malware protection for its protection. Not just for an add on feature.

If you do move away from Norton, be sure you use the Norton Removal Tool.

Re: new vault on firefox

Tru Key, yes. I have it on two other computers. Every other pw safe work just fine on FF (all ver.) & IE. It's just Norton that can't get there stuff together for a year now. You would think they would ask Mozilla how to do it & put the customer first & not the corp. image.

If memory service it was you that discuss this very subject with me way back.
I can tell you that "Last Pass" works the best from all of them. Perhaps Norton should talk to them.
