Re: NIS dont install in W10

If you are using Win 8 or 10, try turning off the Windows Fast Startup feature, and restart your computer a couple of times. If you use Windows 8/8.1 or 10, there can be an issue with the Fast Start feature.. See more information here.

Then try installing Norton again.

And it is not recommended to run NPE unless you feel that the regular Norton scans have missed some malware. It is a very aggressive tool that can leave your system unbootable if you allow it to remove the wrong file, or setting.

Re: NIS dont install in W10

All: There is an CVE against NPE and SymDiag here. The Norton response is patches were released to correct the issues. However a select few are still seeing the NPE issues seen here. Just a heads up.

Why is Fast Startup such a big problem for Norton products?

Why is Fast Startup such a big problem for Norton products?

It is not just Norton products that can be affected by the Fast Startup feature. Because the Fast Startup feature does not completely shut down the computer, any updates for any software do not get the opportunity to close out all their files that need to be replaced for the update to complete.

If you looked at the link I gave, you can still leave Fast Startup enabled, as long as you regularly do a RESTART that will get you a complete shutdown to allow updates to complete.

Re: NIS dont install in W10

Now that you got Norton installed, did you run LiveUpdate manually a few times, restarting as necessary, until no updates are available? Then restart the computer once more?
