No Form Fill

Your latest and greatest Identity Safe (in addition to the other faults) no longer fills in my address information. I am trying to write to my Congressional representatives and ID no longer asks to fill in the information they ask for. It has always done this. I tried it in Chrome (latest version), which I have previously used, and even IE after opening the vault in the old way. Why is this? I am using the latest Windows 10, Chrome, IE, and Norton.

Re: No Form Fill

Is it just that one site, or all sites you try? Some sites are coded differently than Norton expects, and the form fill info will not work.

If it is just one the site, from your browser, click on the ID Safe icon at the right of the browser address bar. Then be sure the vault is open. Then click the icon again, then on the 3 dots at the bottom right. Then click on Feedback and submit the web site information.

Re: No Form Fill

I've tried three different sites, all of which worked before. There are also a number of glaring inconsistencies. Logging into my grocery store account used to be a snap; now, it fills in the login id and leaves the password blank. When I click on the ID Safe icon, the Login is there and I have to go get the pw, copy it and paste it, I just now was going to log in to Facebook (I know, I know). When I went to the login page, it sat there. I clicked the Norton icons in the sign in box and nothing happened. I went to my ID Safe list and it said there were 0 logins for facebook.com. I scrolled down to the facebook.com login, clicked it to go to Facebook, which it did, didn't fill in login info, and when I went back to the login list, it said 0 facebook.com logins even though it had just gone there. Guess I'll try an RandR and see if that solves the problems.

This really sucks! In addition to all the glitches I and others are finding and the obvious differences, couldn't the programmers at least have brought the appropriate entry box into instance. No, you always have click onto them.

Re: No Form Fill

The NRNR will only work if you are using IE. If you are using Chrome, you only need to remove the ID Safe extension from that browser. Restart the browser and reinstall the extension from the Chrome store.

When you find the Facebook login, when you click on the gear icon beside the login, does it show the URL and the Password? I just tested on Chrome and I did see my login info.

Re: No Form Fill

You are right! It didn't work. I will try whjat you suggested. Yes, the URL in the loghin is exactly the same as the URL line; I did check that. Just posted to another thread: After the reinstall, the threat system just quarantined and deleted programs I have used for years. As I said on the other thread, I have had it. I've been with Norton since CP/M and Norton Utilities, but this one is too much. There has to be something more consistent and appreciative of user feedback (not Kapersky tho).

Re: No Form Fill

Just spent 1/2 hour with Norton chat. No help. Did a Chrome update to latest. Removed all Norton extensions. Got Norton Safe from Chrome store. Exactly the same. Tired of it. Guess I'll try dashlane. Will find another security suite when my license is up. Fortunately, I also use Malwarebytes and a VPN, so maybe I'll be alright.

Re: No Form Fill

Installed Dashlane and, after some fiddling around with the header, imported the passwords. So far, they work correctly. Also, FDashlane correctly filled in my forms.

Re: No Form Fill

FWIW I too use another password manager, but keep Norton ID Safe for testing and helping others.

Either way I will still keep my Norton Security product installed as I trust Norton to protect my devices from the nasties out there.

And as the ID Safe is moving away from the Norton Security product, in that it is available for free in the browser extensions, you are not really losing anything by not using the ID Safe features.

My 2 cents.
