I use N360 and need to purge files from on-line backup, but there is no such option on the file actions tab. I found previous threads, but I could not find a solution. Please help.
Welcome to the Norton Community Forums.
Are these backups that you created on your current machine? If so you should be able to delete them from the Backup pane by selecting the backup set, then Delete Backup Set and confirming that you also want to delete the files.
If not, then with your machine connected to the internet, open file explorer and look for the Norton Backup Drive. In that you should see the online backup sets, right click and you should get the delete option.
The above is on the assumption that you want to delete the whole set, not sure how you would just delete selected files.
Did that help?
I've viewed that video before. But, there is no delete or purge option available on the drop down menu.
Mike, thanks for your suggestions. However, I deleted the backups on my computer; but cannot delete the ones on-line at Norton.
Hello again Earniep.
The online removal on the first video is for NOBU I believe and sadly I have never seen those options on N360 or Norton Security. However if you still have Norton on your device then you should be able to see the Norton Drive and through that you should be able to remove the sets from the servers.
Can you see the drive? If so...Can you see the sets online through the Norton Drive?
Hmm, someone should tell Norton to fix video.
So, I can't manage my online backups created with Norton Security Premium from Norton Online Backup portal...? Just asking. Online Backup portal accepts my Norton account creds.
Your suggestion worked. I was able to see the drive and delete online backups.
Thanks for the help.
Delighted it worked Earniep.
bjm_ you can manage online backups you make with NS in the way I suggested, as Earniep has discovered. Sadly Norton have for some reason unknown to me made the functionality of the online backup part of NS somewhat limited which regularly causes frustration.
Manage online backups created with Norton Security Premium via Norton Online Backup portal. And. Open file explorer and look for the Norton Backup Drive. Seems, reasonable. Just me.
Maybe a performance metric ding, adding backend manage to frontend.
