NOBU Not Incrementally Backing Up, Using Double Space

Using NOBU for just under a year, and recently ran out of storage.  Looking at backup space estimates, determined that of the 50Gb allocation, should only be using about 25GB.  Support advised scrubbing account, deleting all computers and starting over, which we did, and total space was about 25GB for all 3 computers. First two backups went fine, but then started receiving W1450 resource allocation errors.  Finally, 3 days ago main machine started a backup, which is still running after 3 days!

Checking online, it now shows that aobut 70% of allocated space is taken, indicating that data from primary desktop machine is being re-copied, vs. incrementally backing up, as time to do backup would indicate.  See screenshot below of file sizes vs. storage used at upper right of screen.

What's up?  This isn't the first time this has happened, and really don't want to continually have to scrub and start over, which defeats the purpose of paying for an automated online backup in the first place!  Is Norton trying to imporve this product that seems to be causing so many problems for others as well?

Welcome,

Sorry you are having a problem. Can you tell us more about your backup jobs? - the source, the destination and the job details?

Thanks

Re: NOBU Not Incrementally Backing Up, Using Double Space

Not too much more to report than what's in the original message (besides 4 hours on Support chat, ending with a disconnect on the 5th transfer to a 3rd "expert").  3 computers, only one has this issue, and only after removing it, scrubbing the data on NOBU's servers and reinstalling NOBU.  Backup files are selected file types, all normal.  NOBU seems to have a problem with file flags or other controls on doubling the data files in backup.  As stated, there are about 25 GB of data in the files that are to be backed up (total), and so far in the last week NOBU has stored about 38GB.  If I run a "calculate next backup" I get the same result for all 3 computers.  Can you be more specific on 'job details' you ask about?  Everything is NOBU-normal, whatever that is.  I'm starting to wonder if sticking with this is worthwhile.  So far, it's not.

Hi Snoman

I received your message and have rectified your issue. The problem was definitely tied to the quota not adding up correctly. Please verify the fix resolved your issue. If yes, mark this post as solved.

Let me know if you need anything further too.
