Norton ID safe malfunction after auto update

hi All,

I was using Norton 360 v 20.x and it automatically updated to v21.1.

When that happened, most of my logins were lost from ID safe.

So I uninstalled v21.1, and reinstalled v20.x. Most of my logins are still gone from ID safe, and ID safe no longer integrates with ie9. I have "enable third party browser extensions" checked in ie9.

so 2 things: why the heck did most of my logins disappear from ID safe?

and why isn't ID safe filling in my forms and autosaving logins any more? (yes i have auto save selected).

this has been very disappointing. Any feedback/advice would be appreciated. thank you,

Z

Re: Norton ID safe malfunction after auto update

Hi,

Sorry for the issue you are facing.

Can you please check in Identity Safe Portal whether your missing logins are listed under it.

Steps:-

1) Browse to https://identitysafe.norton.com/   and login to your Norton Account and Vault.

2) Please check whether all your logins are listed in Identity Safe Portal.

Re: Norton ID safe malfunction after auto update

I logged in as you instructed. And no, my logins are not listed there. i had probably twenty plus, and only 4 remain. They simply vanished. Why did this happen?

And also: ID safe is no longer interacting with Internet Explorer 9. Nothing happens when I enter passwords, it does not save them, does not ask to save them. And does not fill in any passwords, not even when i go to those 4 remaining sites that are still listed in the vault.

This is crazy. Big failure of software as I see it.

Please respond with any explanation, thank you.

Re: Norton ID safe malfunction after auto update

Hello

Just want to let  you know that I'm also facing problems with Identity Safe & IE9 since last update.

Several sites, who used to work with the previous version of ID Safe can no longer be logged into via ID safe and I had to turn ID safe off.

One of these sites f.i. is www.icloud.com

I already reported some of the sites I have problems with via the report possibility in ID safe itself.

As far as I can tell, I haven't lost any passwords after the update.

I do regret that somehow "autoupdate" was turned on in my settings but I hope these issues will be addressed.

Regards

RHE

Re: Norton ID safe malfunction after auto update

OK viveksu, or anybody else.

No one is going to address this issue? It's crazy that my Norton 360 upgrades itself, then ruins everything I had set up in the vault. Unacceptable.

Someone from Norton please respond, and tell me why all but 4 of my passwords disappeared from the vault, and why ID safe is no longer saving passwords or filling in passwords on websites.

anybody?

thanks,

z

Hi zvarro,

I'll see if I can get the attention of someone from Norton for you.

Re: Norton ID safe malfunction after auto update

Hi,

Sorry for the issue you are facing.

1) Can you please Logout of Vault and Norton Account and reboot the machine.

2) Login to same Norton Account and vault and check whether your login are listed.

Do you have the Backup of Identity Safe Data in your Machine?

If you have one, can you please import the Identity Safe Data back into Vault. Your Backup file will be of format ".DAT" or "XLS"

or "NPM.

You can import the Identity Safe Data back from the File which you had exported or backed up earlier from the "Import/Export" Settings in Identity Safe UI.

Can you please cross check the following in your IE9 browser and Norton Product?

Regarding IE9 Issue, do you see the Norton Tool Bar enabled in IE9 "Manage-AddOns" UI?

Open "Identity Safe" UI and click on Settings Icon in the Footer, click on "Browsing" Tab and check whether

"Save my credentials when I log in to a website" is set as "Always OR Ask".

"Autofill my Logins when I visit websites" setting is enabled.
