Norton Identity Safe and Vault

Hello,

When Norton will make a fully functional Norton toolbar and vault. Current version is no use with out having a fully functional Norton vault. The current toolbar is a scrap for Firefox.

When I contacted Firefox, they said, still Symantec is developing a fully functional tool bar for Firefox. So I have to wait till Symantec finish their product.

Hello Symantec, When we can expect your product for Firefox?

Please don't suggest me for Google chrome. Because Chrome is also not compatible with your current toolbar. Some webpages (Ex. Gmail) are not properly displaying some objects because of your current toolbar display adjustments.

Please don't suggest me to view your existing help or other threads for enabling or disabling existing version. I already tried all those things. None of them are working.

Also don't tell me that Firefox guys have to develop new version.

Currently Identity Safe is working for Firefox. Able to save login data and use the same to log into sites.

For the last two days I have not been able to open Vault in Chrome.  It is working fine in Firefox.  When I click on the "Vault is closed" button in Chrome I am asked to sign in to my account (in a window titled "Get Started").  Then I sign into my Norton account and then, even though I use the correct password, it returns me to the sign in window again.

What version of your Norton product are you on? I think the latest update might have fixed that issue, not sure though. A new Norton update just came out. The newest version is 22.8.1.14.

If you are already on the latest version of Norton, and still see this issue, go to your main Norton product screen. Click on your email and sign out. Restart your computer, and then try logging into your vault from Chrome.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

I have the latest updates for my Norton 360 product and I have signed out and restarted my computer.  But this problem remains unsolved.

I had the same issue.  I have a different password for my Norton account and for my Norton Vault.  I don't know why you can't use the same password, but it wouldn't let me either.  Even though you might not like it, try registering for the Vault again and set up a different password.  See if this helps opening it up.  Always works for me, that is, if the darned icon would come up on my toolbar consistently. Now, OMG, I just looked up and the Norton toolbar with my Vault is there!!!  This shouldn't magically appear like this.  It is enabled and has been all along.  But, it's there now and I didn't do anything to make it appear!

My Norton Vault performance deteriorated over several weeks - first it wouldn't work with Chrome, then with Firefox, then not at all.  Yesterday I contacted support via the live chat facility on the Norton support website.  The first support person took control of my PC and tried all sorts of things before elevating it to a higher tier.  That person eventually uninstalled and reinstalled all Norton products (and found a bit of McAfee stuff which also was removed) and now all is working as it should.  Took about an hour, with multiple restarts (which needed my attention to enter fingerprints and log-on passwords at the appropriate times).  I'm a little unimpressed with the software failure but VERY impressed with the 24-7 support.

The different passwords are a security feature. If someone happens to guess your Norton Account password, and you used the same password for the vault, they could access your logins. Possibly giving access to bank accounts.

 Even though you might not like it, try registering for the Vault again and set up a different password.  

If you register for the vault again using the same Norton Account it will wipe out your existing vault. Only do this if you have a valid backup of your vault logins.

The McAfee remnants could have been causing conflicts with your Norton.

Thanks for letting us know you had a positive Support experience. We usually only hear the bad news.

Keep an eye on things and post back if you have problems again.
