Norton Identity Safe (desktop PC App) won't sync with Android App

Hi All,

I've been using Norton Identity Safe (NIS) for months now on my desktop PC and via the app for my android phone.  It's been fantastic. I create a new login and it appears on the other device.  But 2 weeks ago it all stopped working. When I create a new login within my android NIS app it will also appear on my NIS desktop PC app. But when I create a new login using the desktop NIS app it no longer appears in my android NIS app. I've tried reinstalling the Android app and waiting a couple of days. But no success.

Any suggestions please?

What browser are you using on the PC?   Look for the ID Safe Settings. Possibly three dots at the bottom right of the ID Safe window. Click the dots then click Sync Vault.

Also, try signing out of our Norton Account. With the vault locked, click on the ID Safe icon and click sign out at the bottom of the window. Restart your computer then sign back into your vault.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Thanks for replying.  I'm not using NIS in a browser on my PC. I'm using the actual NIS software application installed on my PC (see attached screenshot of the "About" page).  I can't find any sync option in this PC application. 

Thoughts?

I see you are using the Standalone version of Norton ID Safe. This has been discontinued. See the announcement here.  https://community.norton.com/en/forums/standalone-version-norton-identit...

There is no manual sync option, but as you are using a cloud vault, it is automatically synced when you sign into the vault. Regardless of which device you are using to access the vault.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Thanks Peter.  Can you please point me to the cloud-based vault. I currently don't have a subscription to any Norton products. So I can't access NIS via those products.

As you are using the Standalone version of ID Safe, you are using the online vault. Check this by clicking on your email address at the bottom of the ID Safe screen on your PC. Then choose to sign out.  Then try to sign back into your vault. You will need to first enter your Norton Account email and password before entering the vault password. This shows you are using an online vault.

As long as you use the same Norton Account on the PC and the mobile devices, any changes from one should show up on the other device.

Also, as a security step, be sure you have backups of your vault on the PC. You cannot do this with the mobile only versions, so if something happens to your vault, you will need the backup on the PC. You may have backups already on your PC. Check your Documents folder for a folder called Norton Identity Safe Backups. In that folder will be another folder with your Norton Account email as its name. In that folder should be some .dat files that are the backups.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.
