Hello john7

There might be a way to get back your local vault, but I am not sure if it will still work or not. Please see this link.

Hello Joanne

I just got to my Norton Account ok and got to the various pages. It depends on where you are located and which server your Account uses I suppose. Sorry you couldn't get to yours.

Thanks.

I did finally manage to get in and download without a problem - by changing from Internet Explorer to Chrome.

Thank you.

Norton's logon management page appears to be offline. Are other people having issues logging into their Norton account?

I was able to sign into my account but the Devices information was not available.

The usual answer for a temporary server issue is to wait 24 hours and complain after that.

The same problem. Occasionally I can't log in to my account from the Identity Safe panel. I don't see my device at the account webpage too.

Re: Norton Management website down!! (??)

I have changed from NSBU to NS Deluxe. I need to move one of the mobile phones from NSBU to a NS seat. My problem is as described in this thread, trying to log in to my account:
“An Unexpected Error Occurred” (different Error Ids)
Sometimes I succeed to log in, but:
“Devices information is not available”.

https://status.norton.com/ reports 'Norton ID Safe: Service is down'. The meaning is probably that the other services are running without problems?

I appreciate any advice how to connect the Android phone to the new product.

Re: Norton Management website down!! (??)

There could be a problem with what you are asking about a mobile device. If the two Norton Subscriptions are using the same email address, in the past, it seems that Norton will decide for you what subscription it wants to use for the NMS product on your phone.

You can try logging into   https;//mobilesecurity.norton.com

Look for your phone in the Devices tab. Delete the device. Then go to the phone and go to Android Settings - Apps, and find your Norton Mobile Security. Clear the app cache and app data. Restart the phone and then start the NMS app. You will have to tap on the 3 bars at the top left of the screen, and then tap on Sign In. Enter your Norton Account email and password to activate the product.

Then when you can get to the Services tab on the Norton Management web site to check to see which subscription your phone is listed under.

If it went to the wrong product, you could try Norton Chat to see if they can direct your phone to the subscription your want.

Re: Norton Management website down!! (??)

I have a similar--if not identical--issue on my Windows 10 desktop computer:

Sometimes I can login to my Norton Account by way of the Norton Taskbar, sometimes not.

Sometimes I can login to my Norton Account by way of the Norton Security Identity Safe settings, sometimes not.

HOWEVER; NONE OF THE TIME, does my Identify Safe recognize my Vault password.

I just finished a chat session with a Norton Rep regarding this.  The Rep told me "it is a known, ongoing issue" or words to that effect, that Norton is "working on it," and that a "fix is expected within 24-48 hours."

(Unfortunately, I was also told "24 hours" 24 hours ago...)

I suggest you grin-and-bear it for a while.  That's what I intend to do, since there doesn't seem to be much of a choice.

I do have a laptop computer on which Norton Identify Safe and Norton Security are working, PERFECTLY.  Until the issue concerning my desktop product is "fixed," I will use that laptop if I need to login to web sites securely.  (But for those without a second computer as an option...Oh, well! lol.  You could still login manually, I suppose...if you can access your passwords.)

NOTE:  I also tried the "status.norton.com" web site, which indicated ALL GREEN for ALL SERVICES.  Obviously, that was baloney (or balogna, if you wanna get technical about spelling).  In that regard, "status.norton.com" may not exactly be up-to-date; so best keep that in mind.

Good luck!  See you on the other side!  Whatever that is...

It may be fixed. I just logged into my account and was able to see my devices.

Re: Norton Management website down!! (??)

My Devices weren't accessible last night; but they are now.  However, I'm still unable to login to Identify Safe, either on the Norton Taskbar or Norton Security's Identity Safe section.  I keep getting an "Incorrect Vault password" error, even though I'm 110% certain the password is correct.  Maybe "bringing the server back up" entails a series of steps, and Vault passwords--at least, in my case--haven't been fixed??  Ah, well, anyway...glad your program's back in working order.

Re: Norton Management website down!! (??)

Management servers and ID Safe servers are totally separate. One going down should have no bearing on the other.

There are other users that have mentioned the ID Safe problems so hopefully they will get those servers back ASAP.

Re: Norton Management website down!! (??)

Thank you for clarifying that, peterweb.  I always thought Identity Safe relied on access to Norton Management (due to having to enter my Norton Account password before entering the Vault password).  Are Norton Management and "My Norton Account" also separate??  I suppose I'm just confused again lol...but it does seem unlikely that these separate Norton Management and Identity Safe servers should crash (or whatever they did) at essentially the same time...  Anyway, thanks for clarifying.

Re: Norton Management website down!! (??)

It would appear they are the same. When you go to mynortonaccount.com, you are redirected to manage.norton.com.

I always thought Identity Safe relied on access to Norton Management (due to having to enter my Norton Account password before entering the Vault password).

We may be confusing web sites with account servers. The Identity Safe accesses the Norton Account servers, not the Manage website. Same for the Manage  and My Norton Account web sites. They access the Account servers to log you in.

Re: Norton Management website down!! (??)

Okay, thanks again.  Well...regardless of what goes to where from which...I was finally able to login to my Identity Safe Vault about 90 minutes ago.  However, after logging in, I wound up having to restore the latest automatic Vault backup from my computer.

Good grief, what a nightmare...all because of inability to login to Norton Account and then the ID Safe Vault.  I hope that issue doesn't rear its ugly head again anytime soon...

Re: Norton Management website down!! (??)

That's why I stayed with the Local Vault. Don't need Norton servers.

Did you by chance reset your vault password while trying to get into your vault? That will wipe out any existing vault contents, forcing you to import the backup.

Re: Norton Management website down!! (??)

 @peterweb
Thanks a lot for your answer (https://community.norton.com/en/comment/7142711#comment-7142711), maybe your instructions about joining https://mobilesecurity.norton.com is the best one. I was afraid of losing all blocked numbers (a nice feature in NMS!!!) after deleting the device at mobilesecurity.norton. Last week I succeeded to tie my own Android phone to the new NS license, but my procedure was to remove the device from my Norton account and the reinstall NMS. Sorry, I lost my blocked phone numbers (the Norton site warned me to remove the device; this feature should only be used if the device was stolen or not in use anymore).

Now I had to update my wife's Android phone, but 'My Norton' was inaccessible. That's why I joined this thread. Yesterday my Norton account was working well again; the devices page is back, telling that my wife's phone has two days left. Her phone says she have 7 days left of the license period (?). The phone screen offered to 'renew now'; I used that option, logged into my Norton Account. SUCCESS! The new license was now active.

My Norton Account still shows that my PC and my wife's phone are tied to the NSBU service with 2 days left, but both devices are also tied to the new NS license. I do not dare to delete the licenses at NSBU, this service is going to be expired in short time.

I trust Norton's setup programs, they have always been easy to use! I started he renew process by installing NS Deluxe on my computer (installation on top). The setup found another Norton product on my PC and started to remove it. Be patient; the process is time-consuming. I was convinced there was a program hang and I performed a shut down. At reboot the Norton setup continued with the removal/installation. Nice engineering from the Symantec team. But I want a more visible sign telling that the setup is working.

Peterweb wrote:  “.. in the past, it seems that Norton will decide for you what subscription it wants to use for the NMS product on your phone.” Yes, it seems it work this way, but it is a proper and understandable way. If you want to change your Norton product like me (from NSBU to NS Deluxe), just follow this simple steps:

[] Download and install the new product on your computer (install on top, but have the remove app available; just in case). You may loose some days of your previous license. Be patient when the setup is working with removal of the old product......

[] On devices with Norton Mobil Security, use the option 'Renew now'. The device will be tied to the new license for the next period.

This was really simple as soon as the Norton servers were running in a proper way; thanks.

PS The mobilesecurity.norton.com site still tells one of the phones have an active subscription from last year (NSBU), but I assume this will change when this license is expired.

Re: Norton Management website down!! (??)

John

Good to hear the mobile devices are set properly now.

My Norton Account still shows that my PC and my wife's phone are tied to the NSBU service with 2 days left, but both devices are also tied to the new NS license.

Are you looking at the Devices tab? Than can often be behind or just incorrect. The Services tab should show the correct information for all your devices.

Download and install the new product on your computer (install on top, but have the remove app available; just in case). You may loose some days of your previous license.

Although the install process will lose the days from the old subscription, you can always contact Support via chat and ask them to add the remaining days to the new subscription.
