Norton is not taking off my my spyware

This computer is infested with advertisements hidden under words that are in light blue with an underline. The color is lighter than the real blue but sometimes I can't tell the difference. Example : The word NORTON on the Norton Safe Search page is blue and an advertisement comes up when clicked. It is black on my other computer as it should be. I have had my computer scanned by Norton and they can't find the problem

Hi hensonb3,

Thanks for reporting this. Are you seeing this behavior on Mac OSX, Windows, or another OS?

Thanks,

Torrey

Re: Norton is not taking off my my spyware

It looks like you may have picked up a PUP, a Possibly Unwanted Program. While they are annoying, they do not cause damage to your system. Some people actually want the 'Features' offered by these programs. They are usually downloaded alongside a legitimate download when you do not uncheck the option for the additional download.

Norton products concentrate on malware that can damage your system, that is why some PUPs are not detected.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.
