Norton Pasword Manager on Firefox using Galax 8+

Have enjoyed using Norton Password Manager (NPM) with Firefox on my Galaxy S5 for months. Bought a Galaxy 8+ and I am disappointed. Unable to use NPM to auto fill user names and passwords on web sites using Firefox on Galaxy 8+, all 122 of them, wallets and addresses.

What Android versions were/are on the two devices? It may be changes within the OS that are causing the difference you are seeing?

Re: Norton Pasword Manager on Firefox using Galax 8+

Android ver 5.0 on Galaxy S5. Ver 9 on Galaxy S8+ with Security patch level Oct 1, 2019.

To clarify: I am looking how to use Norton Password Manager (NPM) on Firefox on Galaxy 8+ (right now I have no SIM card, using Wi-Fi in the S8+). I have NPM ver 6.56.0.2114 set as default browser on Android ver 9.

I click on a vault web site in NPM. A browser opens with the name of the page in the address bar but stays blank. I then open Firefox, am signed in,  and click on a web site from my vault but it does nothing. I then manually enter user name and password. It opens the site but nothing happens related to NPM though I still have it open from the last operation. I then set Firefox as my phone's default browser with no better results.

In summary, I was using NPM on Firefox on my Galaxy S5 and I am looking how to use it on Firefox on my Galaxy 8+.

Tap on the menu button at the bottom of of the NPM screen. Then tap on Tutorial. Then tap on App Autofilling at the bottom of the list, and follow the instructions to turn on the NPM Service. Then test your Firefox to see if it works like it did in your other device.

Re: Norton Pasword Manager on Firefox using Galax 8+

I had shut down and restarted my phone. Had to go to Settings on pop up menu, then Tutorial, then to App Autofillling, "Show Me How", "Open Settings" which took me to Accessibility..
In Accessibility I got Installed Services which showed NPW Services On.
Started Firefox- was logged in. Clicking a log-in in NPM for a specific web page opened it but the web page stayed blank.

Did click on the pop up menu button, chose browser- (NPM's browser- Samsung from what I understand) and chose a website on NPM, it auto signed in. Still leaves me without Firefox and all the features I chose in it. I feel lost with all this Really need someone to talk with on the phone to get this working. .

NPM does not support the Firefox browser on Android devices. See my quite old post here. https://community.norton.com/en/comment/7821271#comment-7821271

The post is old, but the information is still valid. Sorry I forgot about that old thread.

Clicking a log-in in NPM for a specific web page opened it but the web page stayed blank.

When you click on a login from the NPM vault, it opens a built in browser. Not the Android default browser, or any external browser you may have installed.

What you are describing sounds the same as the users in this thread.  https://community.norton.com/en/forums/password-manager-browser-issue. I would suggest adding a post in that thread, as I have already asked for the thread to be escalated. If you get your post in there, you too may be asked for logs to try to help diagnose the issue.

Yes, I came to the same conclusion while on a call on Norton Support. I mistook the browser on my S5 as being Firefox. It was not, it was NPM browser. Thank you for your help.

You are welcome. And please post in the other thread so that Norton knows it is more than just one or two user with this issue.
