Norton Remove and Reinstall

Hi, I'm having a few issues with Windows Defender running at the same time as Norton Internet Security on Windows 10, so it appears that I need to run Norton Remove and Reinstall.   If I run the Remove and Reinstall program will it use up another copy on my one year Norton subscription?

Re: Norton Remove and Reinstall

An clean reinstall of NS to the same PC that it was initally installed on should not count as an additional seat. If by some quirk it does you have options. Certanly Norton Support would help you. Also, before doing the reinstall go to your Norton Account and check to see if your PC is still listed as being served by NS. If it appears, remove it. Bottom line: have no fear of losing a seat cuz of a clean reinstall.

NB: If you check your Norton Account before the reinstall, check to see if your Windows Firewall is enabled. Uninstalling NS should re-enable it, but it doesn't hurt to double check.

Curious. Are you using Win 10 Anniversary (1067)? If so, did you get it by Upgrade/Update or by installing it via Windows Media Creator created iso?

The Anniversary Update added a feature to run occasional Defender scans, even if you use a third party AV product. See Windows Settings - Update and Security - Windows Defender. The option is called Limited Periodic Scanning. You can manually turn this option off.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Many thanks for your reply, I ran the Remove and Reinstall program and it was successful. Norton Support were brilliant.
