Is Norton Safe Web SAFE ??

I have installed a new web browser, MS Edge. Reason, I have been using Internet Explorer 11. but now several web sites have given me a message that they no longer support Internet Explorer 11. Since I started using MS Edge, Norton has been giving me a message that a need to install Norton Safe Web. Hello smbdck. Its suggesting you install the Norton Safe Web extension for Edge which is the same Safe Web as you used with IE11. Just a different extension for the different browser. The functions will be the same on Edge once installed. I too began seeing a bunch of sites I use frequently stating they either no longer support IE11 or will end support for it as well.

Cheers

I must have. I have the Norton toolbar that has a window that says Safe Search, but I never used it.

Re: Is Norton Safe Web SAFE ??

OK. So I installed Safe Web on MS Edge and it says I am now protected. However, I don't think it's working. Whenever I did a Google search on IE all the search sites that came up had a small green box next to them that said OK and Norton. Sometimes it would be gray if Norton didn't have any info on the site. MS EDge searches don't have the little green box, so I'm not sure Safe Search is working.

Hi @smbdck

Norton Safe Web extension supports Search results annotation for Google/Yahoo/Bing on Chrome browser alone.

For Firefox/Edge/Safari browsers, we don't offer the search annotation on Google/Yahoo/Bing, but our extension will continue to offer below features on Firefox/Edge/Safari.

 1. Protection from Sites with threats

 2. Antiphishing protection
