norton security corrupts cyberscrub

I recently updated my Norton 360 to Norton Security.

The program constantly uninstalls cyber scrub b/c norton thinks it is a security risk.  It is not.

How do I keep NS from constantly corrupting Cyber Scrub, thus necessitating constant reinstalls?

For second opinion choose File &/or Search hash at VirusTotal

Exclusions / Low Risks options lets you exclude disks, folders, and files from risk and Auto-Protect scans. It provides a way for you to manage the items that have a low-security risk.  Excluding low-risk items from scans reduces your protection and should be used only if you have a specific need.

Every one of these links leads me to a page that says “page not found”.  Basically, a 404 for the Norton site.

It’s the entire program, not just a file.

Exclude files and folders from Norton Auto-Protect, SONAR, and Download Intelligence scans

You can use Scan Exclusions window and Real Time Exclusions window to exclude viruses and other high-risk security threats from scanning.

Exclude high-risk security threats from scanning

  1. Start Norton.

If you see the My Norton window, next to Device Security, click Open.

  2. In the Norton main window, click Settings.

  3. In the Settings window, click Antivirus.

  4. In the Antivirus settings window, click the Scans and Risks tab.

  5. Under Exclusions / Low Risks, do one of the following:

    • In the Items to Exclude from Scans row, click Configure.

    • In the Items to Exclude from Auto-Protect, SONAR and Download Intelligence Detection row, click Configure.

  6. In the window that appears, click Add Folders or Add Files.

  7. In the Add Item dialog box, click the browse icon.

  8. In the dialog box that appears, select the item that you want to exclude from the scan.

  9. Click OK.

  10. In the Add Item dialog box, click OK.

  11. In the window that appears, click Apply, and then click OK.

Thanks for your help.  I think this did the trick.

Re: norton security corrupts cyberscrub

I did all of these and Norton still removes this "protected" area.  Please advise.

What is "protected" area?  Sorry, I'm not familiar with CyberScrub.

Um, which CyberScrub?

Maybe, Norton is reacting to CyberScrub secure erase or encryption.
