Norton Security Full System Scan not working

Just tried to perform a full system scan and when I click 'Go' nothing happens (screen disappears). I've not set a schedule, as I want to run this scan whenever I like.

R U able to run LU and restart....and if you're running W8/8.1 do a full shutdown not a hybrid shutdown.  Have you run Auto Fix.  Is your system tray Icon green / normal
An issue with Windows 8/8.1 is the Fast Start feature.
With this enabled, you never get a full shutdown.
Which is needed by Norton, and other programs to fully update itself.

W7 may also require a restart to satisfy Norton to fully update itself.

Okay, a reboot has the scan working now. However, the first thing I do when I install a fresh copy of Windows is to disable the fast startup option, so this is weird!

Edit to add that when the full scan didn't work (before I rebooted), the quick scan worked fine.

Well, U fixed it.  That's what counts.  I have to post generic information about W8 because not everyone is as knowing as U.   Kudos
I was not aware as U did not post that quick scan still work'd....but, my Reply would have been the same.  As we are all users like U we have to make assumptions just based sometimes upon a vibe. 
Sometimes a plan just comes together and we both get lucky.
