Norton Security has been "Fixing" for days

For the past 4 days, whenever I login to my computer the Norton Security home screen has been "Fixing". During this time I have done a Quick Scan and a Full System Scan, yet the home screen still shows "Fixing". How do I resolve this issue?

Have you tried rebooting your PC? Not a shutdown but a reboot? By reboot I mean a restart. Have you tried running a Live Update? Which version are you using? Click on help then about.

Yes I have. Rebooted at least four times a day in the hope that the problem will resolve itself but no luck. When I do a "New Version Check" I am informed that I am running the latest version (see attachment).

Apologies, I forgot to add the version in my earlier post. Version 22.8.1.14. I trust this will help.

Many thanks to PatsSox Bruins and Krusty13 for your suggestions. The issue seems to have been resolved.

I did another reboot, followed by a full system scan, followed by another reboot. At this time I was informed that there were issues that required a fix. I clicked the Fix Now button and then Norton Security solved the issue.

I still don't know what the cause was but I am now a happy bunny. Thanks again to everyone. Sincerely appreciated.

Please define reboot. Did you go start shutdown or start restart. Thanks.

For my attempts today, I did the Start and then Shut Down procedure, waited about 10 minutes before rebooting.

Ok but that is not the same as a restart. Next time it is best just to simply restart your machine. Start/ Power/ Restart

I had tried the restart option on a few previous occasions when the problem arose and it did not solve the problem.

I have been using Norton products for more than 10 years and this is the first time I have had a problem with the software. I must add that it did not affect the operation of any of the computer's functions while it was "fixing". I could do Quick and Full System scans during the time it was "fixing".

Did you install or use any non-Symantec security program? Is so, check out this page and choose one that works for the app on your computer.

Are you running a Windows 8/8.1/10 PC? If so, plz read this page to disable fast startup.

More, plz try updating your the video graphics driver. And, plz do it as the admin user. For related info, plz visit this page (Step 3). You may also pay a visit to the vendor's official site.
