Norton Security preset to defrag my SSD solid state drive

Norton Security i found in the settings that it's set to defrag (optimize) my drive. I have a SSD solid state drive and it can hurt that. Frustrated that Norton does this, they should have a warning to anyone who owns a SSD.

Otherwise i'm happy with my purchase.

Here is some information on the Windows defrag and SSDs.

Norton uses the Windows optimization routine, so it would not actually defrag the drive except as noted in the link.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Hello

It's also a good idea to go over the Settings of any new product you install. The ? at the end of each setting tells you all about each section or each setting.

Thanks.

Success always occurs in private and failure in full view. Windows 10 Pro 64 bit Norton Core Security Plus 22.18.0.213 Core Firmware 282 I E 11 Chrome latest version.
