Norton Security is snoozed?

Just recently my computer, running on Windows 10 with NIS started to act strangely and lag. After checking on the problem and doing some research, I found out it was caused by the Windows process Antimalware Service Executable. I've had this computer and Norton Internet Security on it since I bought it 4 years ago and I've never had this problem before. I thought the NIS had disabled this function.

I checked into the Windows Defender Security Center and noticed that it said that actions were needed in Norton under the "Firewall & Network Protection" tab. I click on it and then on the next page it lists the different networks. When you click on each one of them it says that "Norton Internet Security is snoozed and your device may not be protected."

I checked my NIS and it seems to be running fine. All of the tools are on and my Live Updates are all updated.

Can anyone help?

Re: Norton Security is snoozed?

And now Windows is saying my Norton Internet Security is turned off. I got a warning when I turned my computer back on this morning from Windows that I had no virus protection or firewall. So i followed the link to the System and Security section of the Control Panel which then told me my NIS is turned off under the Virus Protection link and it says "snoozed" under the Network Firewall tab.

Through all this, my NIS itself still says it's working properly with no problems.

Anybody?

Re: Norton Security is snoozed?

What version of Windows are you running?  From the Start button, type Winver.

There have been issues with the way the Defender Security Center is reporting 3rd party AV products.

As long as you see a green check mark in the Norton icon in the System tray, your Norton is working and protecting you.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Re: Norton Security is snoozed?

I'm running Windows 10.1803.

The Norton itself is working fine. Everything is "green" and I do have the check mark. It's just that Windows can't read it.

I tried running Live update like this fix suggested ;

...but I still have problems.

Re: Norton Security is snoozed?

But it is an issue with the way Defender is detecting 3rd party apps.

A couple of other examples.

Hi @MARK M.,

Thanks for reporting in Norton Community Forums. Can you please provide status on "Norton Internet Security is snoozed and your device may not be protected" issue and Norton product version installed?

Re: Norton Security is snoozed?

After waiting days with no response from Norton.... and Live Chat being absolutely zero help, I ran the RNRN and it seems to have fixed the problem.
