Norton 'Time to renew' Buy page doesn't open?

Firefox

Prompted by desktop Norton to renew subscription. I'm logged into Norton on the desktop. I check off 'Buy' on connected webpage.

The following page tries to load: https://buy.norton.com/estore/checkOut

But does not. Blank page. I've provided a popup exception in Firefox, refreshed but still the page doesn't load.

?

Do you have another browser you can try to see if it is a browser issue? It is possible that there is a temporary issue with the page.

Are you using an ad blocker in Firefox? If so, try disabling that for the Norton web sites.

Mark, you are often better off shopping around reputable online/shop front retailers for your renewal.

It will nearly always cost you a lot more to renew direct with Symantec.

Most places will send you a key via email.

Re: Norton 'Time to renew' Buy page doesn't open?

Hello

I have noticed some threads, it has been reported that there is a back end server issue. I don't know how true it is or if it is still existing. This might be in one area also. However, if this is accurate, this could account for the issue I believe. I'm not positive about this, so don't give it much thought.

Have a Good Night and

Thanks.

try "Turn off Blocking for This Site" + turn off page content blocking...e.g, uBlockOrigin, AdBlockPlus, etc.

Re: Norton 'Time to renew' Buy page doesn't open?

Thanks for the assistance.

I didn't bother trying to figure out what was bothering Firefox even with the popup excepted for the site.

I had no problem using Chrome other than Symantec itself. I keep forgetting the hard sell tactics used by the company when it comes time to renew. Once I got past the attempts to up charge and logged in and was almost ready to pay for the one year @$40, I read the finer print associated with checking the box for the subscription (which was the only way the page would allow you to finalize the purchase), it was then clear that you were acknowledging future renewals would be at $110!

I aborted the purchase.

I will check Amazon or... and certainly not purchase from the company--maybe I'll remember next year ;-)

It's a shame that Symantec treats long standing customers (~40 years) in this shabby way. All it promotes is customer disloyalty. The company could learn a thing or two from this forum if it were their intention.

Thanks for posting back.

If you are happy with the renewal at $40, you can always go into your Norton Account after the purchase and turn off the Auto Renewal. You can also remove your payment information from your Account to ensure they cannot take a payment in the future.

Re: Norton 'Time to renew' Buy page doesn't open?

I checked Amazon. I had purchased the product from them last year:

Norton Security Premium - 10 Devices [Download Code]
Sold by: Amazon Digital Services, Inc.
$39.99
Condition: New

I will again. This time I will notate same in my Outlook reminder and will hopefully avoid this mess next year. I appreciate the heads up on removing the auto renew ++.

You all are the best ;-)!

Mark
