Sorry, I've not run Toolbar for years.  I only enabled for screenshots.

Lets hear from Community.

Re: Norton Toolbar, NOT repeat NOT Norton Identity Safe

The extension does not show at all. I guess you would have to see the 1st screen shot (if Norton can show it and all the others). I'm not doing a re-install of Norton (there should be no reason to do that at all) this just happened with the update of Firefox V.50. It cannot be just me having this problem surely? Cheers for the replies by the way.

Re: Norton Toolbar, NOT repeat NOT Norton Identity Safe

Well, the Norton Security Toolbar extension comes to Firefox thru Norton install.

Was the extension okay on Firefox 49.
Lets hear if over-install Firefox is option or reset / refresh Firefox.

Granted, you should not have to re-install Norton or Firefox.

Edit:  how about creating new Firefox profile.  If Norton install is okay.  Norton Security Toolbar should appear in new profile.  Has for me upon create new Firefox profile.

Re: Norton Toolbar, NOT repeat NOT Norton Identity Safe

Have you tried opening Norton and going to Help > Get Support, and let Auto-fix run?

A little bit of knowledge is... well a little bit of knowledge.

A bit of profile I guess would help:win10 pro  64 bit 32GB ram 120 OS SSD.

Yup I have the 64bit version however... " run " and put this path in: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe -P" only opens firefox... nothing more?

If new profile does not show Norton Toolbar.  Then, I'd refresh Norton install by NortonRnRTool.
Create new Firefox profile & refresh Norton install is familiar for me.  So, that's my process.
YMMV

jdandice: FF 64 bit.

Thanks.  since FF49 x64 worked okay.... then on your setup you'd know best whether FF50 update or recent Norton update is causal.

I'm on the Admin user account on my system as well...is there any other way to be? I may roll back to FF49 to see what is what.

Sounds like a plan.  I save FF installers, just in case.

Norton Security 22.8.1.14 is now available via LiveUpdate. As with our previous updates, this version is being released in a phased manner in all supported languages. To download this update, simply run LiveUpdate.

Thanks....since update may arrive in parts. I was imaging partial update.

The update comes in two parts, and most people will get the engine. Both parts together will get your product updated. You may need to run LiveUpdate and reboot a few times before your product is completely updated to the latest version.

I don't see this mentioned but I could of missed it  -  Have you considered running the Norton Remove & Reinstall Tool?  All your settings are supposed to be saved and you get a fresh new copy of Norton.  It doesn't take long to do if you run out of other ideas.

I really do not want to go though the whole re-install bit.  On the up side I enabled flash and got a new error message.  Any ideas anyone?

Re: Norton Toolbar, NOT repeat NOT Norton Identity Safe

Do you still have Firefox 32bit installed.

I'm still, head scratch, why you cannot create new profile.

Did you leave space between exe and -P
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe -P

Does Norton and Firefox otherwise seem okay.

Re: Norton Toolbar, NOT repeat NOT Norton Identity Safe

Don't get me wrong, now I know how to do it, I can create new FF profiles all day long.  The issue is under ANY profile I create I cannot get the security tool bar to activate  :( As no one else seems to have this issue I am guessing it's a setting in my system that is not helping, but I cannot see what it is :(

Kudos0

Re: Norton Toolbar, NOT repeat NOT Norton Identity Safe

Oh, okay.  I misunderstood.

Did that and no it does not work!

Thinking, you could not create new profile.

put this path in: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe -P only opens firefox... nothing more?

I re-read now and realize.....nothing more, meant no Toolbar.

Firefox cannot modify the needed file & I enabled flash and got a new error message

? & ?

Since new profile has same issue.  Try Refresh Norton.  Run the Norton Remove & Reinstall Tool from desktop, in Admin user account.  Have your Norton account credentials handy.  Or, let Norton Support help you.  If you don't mind Support remote access.   Chat with Official Norton Support

Re: Norton Toolbar, NOT repeat NOT Norton Identity Safe

Been on to your link: "Chat with Official Norton Support" they have taken over my PC and:

1) they have no idea why Norton Security bar does not work.

2) and have managed to make Norton identity safe not to work now!!!

I have a call back in the next 48 hours to escalate this issue, my guess is I will not be near my PC when they ring :(

Re: Norton Toolbar, NOT repeat NOT Norton Identity Safe

Nope but in all honesty I have just given up on it.  I even for a second (just a second tho) considered using MS internet explorer.   I even got so desperate I considered MS Edge (may (insert deity of your choosing here) have mercy on my sole!). Only to be told Norton extensions does not work with it.

No idea why the tool bar did not show, then after a re-install of Norton it showed up for it then just to disappear again!

I don't use it at all really, it's just reassuring  to see a green OK or whatnot so you can make your own mind up.

Hopefully in the next Norton update this whole app thing will be sorted.......

Wonder if you try and confirm that Firefox 49 is okay.....then manual update to FF50.
Was FF49 to 50 automatic.

and what's status re >

presume, you're referring to new Norton Identity Safe extension for Firefox.

Re: Norton Toolbar, NOT repeat NOT Norton Identity Safe

Well I did a few things, ID safe works again now - not a massive problem it just needed to be re-enabled again after a restart and had some messing about.

I uninstalled Firefox v50 64 bit, I also a 32 bit version down as v43 or thereabouts I got rid of.

Reinstalled the V50 32bit - did not work, uninstalled it again

Reinstalled the v50 64bit - did not work, but kept it.

Don't know how to downgrade to check other version of FF, any links?

Re: Norton Toolbar, NOT repeat NOT Norton Identity Safe

Don't know how to downgrade to check other version of FF, any links?

FileHippo offers older links e.g., http://filehippo.com/download_firefox_64/

Or
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/install-older-version-of-firefox

Running an older version of Firefox may put your system at risk. Mozilla patches security vulnerabilities that are found in the browser regularly, which may mean that you are running a version of the browser that is vulnerable to certain attack forms.

Back up your Firefox profile.

Just a suggestion.

Your image above shows an add on 'My Homepage'. Have you tried disabling that and then try reinstalling Norton again.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.
