Norton Vault Migration to New Browser?

Greetings.  After having many issues with my current browser -- Internet Explorer 11 -- I have decided to try another one.  My son uses Firefox, so I downloaded it.  I cannot figure out how to import my Norton Vault with all of my passwords into the new browser?!  Should I be using a different new browser?  Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Re: Norton Vault Migration to New Browser?

It depends on whether you are using a local or a cloud vault in IE.

The new FF extension only uses an online vault. If you are using a local vault in IE, then unfortunately, there is no way to import the vault contents to a newly created online vault.

If you are using an online vault already, you just need to sign into the new FF extension and you will have access to the vault contents.

Have you downloaded and enabled the ID Safe extension into Firefox?

Re: Norton Vault Migration to New Browser?

I spent hours a few days ago, with Norton, trying to use the vault with my my Firefox.  In the end, I was told it is not yet capable of working with Firefox, but does work with I.E. 11.   So when ever I use the vault, I use I.E.  Otherwise I use Firefox. "They" said they were working on it and that I should check with this community site where there would be a post whenever/if ever they get it to work with Firefox.

@twicker

I realize your post was moved to this thread. My post above explains the situation. If you have a local vault, the FF extension cannot access that vault. If you have a cloud/online vault the FF extension will work with that.

Norton Symantec needs to fix that problem!

Many here agree. But I'm sure you have been following this local vault issue over the last few years. Many users have posted about wanting the local vault back. Norton has removed the ability to create a new local vault with their newer products.

Just my opinion, but I do not think we will ever see the local vault being supported by Norton again.
