Norton vs Firefox

So many months has passed, when is Norton going to get their act together to fix the integration of identity safe with Firefox, are the developers soooo stupid they cant solve this? Makes one wonder if their abilities in fighting viruses is up to scratch?? certainly according to Firefox Nortons ability to keep up is lacking!!!!!

Re: Norton vs Firefox

Sigh. This has been mentioned so many times, that it's getting stupid.

If people read the comments by Norton staff, they would realise that thanks to Mozilla, this is a very complex issue.

Symantec wants to get this right, otherwise there'll be another slew of complaints............

Oh, ok, so this is harder than dealing with the virus's being written? I don't think so. Norton are either incompetent or are not allocating the resources to the problem, full stop. Norton had warning of this and if you read mozillas take on the problem, you would/should see that Norton are the ones that erred!

did you try the override switch...?

  1. Type about:config in the Firefox address bar and hit enter.
  2. Confirm that you will be careful if a warning page is displayed.
  3. Use the search at the top to find xpinstall.signatures.require.
  4. Double-click on the preference to toggle its value so that it is set to false.

Doing so allows you to install unsigned extensions in the Firefox web browser. Please note that the override will be removed in Firefox 44 Stable and Beta.
