Norton Vulnerability Protection Problem in IE11

Hi, all.

I noticed that Norton Vulnerability Protection is always disabled when I open IE11 in Windows 8.1., even if I enabled it previously.  I searched this forum for answers on this and read that it might have something to do with IE11's Enhanced Protected Mode being enabled.  So I went to IE options and checked and saw that it was not enabled.  So it this more likely my machine's problem or is it a variation of Norton/Microsoft's problem as mentioned by others in previous threads on this matter?

Also, my machine is 64-bit, yet in Screenshot 1 below, Norton Vulnerability Protection only seems to be compatible with 32-bit.

Thank you.

Re: Norton Vulnerability Protection Problem in IE11

Hi, Inquirer. That's correct. My system is 64 bit, but NVP is only compatible in 32 bit form.

Did you download the 64 bit version ?, because you need the 32 bit version of IE.

Re: Norton Vulnerability Protection Problem in IE11

Hi, F4E.

Since IE was already installed on this machine when I got it in December of last year, I'm guessing it is the 64 bit version.

From what you're saying, this problem is not caused by my machine.  So I guess I'll just ignore IE and use Firefox or Chrome instead, which is what usually do anyway.

By the way, will a 64 bit computer even allow you to install 32 bit software on it?

Absolutely.  Here's a good explanation of the advantages of the 64 bit O/S.
