If consumer reports would test this product it would not be recommened.  If the car dealer took this long to fix your car, Tony, you would be screaming at them.  So what is the delay in fixing the problem with id safe.  This is way  past acceptable.

Hi,

Who or what determines 'acceptable'. I'm willing to wait, without the safe, until the team is sure that they have found and fixed all of the problems so that it works well with all of the supported browsers.

No, I don't get paid to promote Norton or any other product I mention. Over the past 27 years I have tried a lot of software. Some I've been able to break and some has tried hard to break me. When I find things I like, I recommend them. The opposite is also true.

Happy with the current situation, no way! Understanding, still, but beginning to be more concerned. So until they can get it fixed

Stay well and surf safe

Hi sont13,

I disagree with dickevans - I am not happy , or willing to wait for a fix, nor feel I should "turn the safe off" and only get part of what I paid for!

So what have I done about it?  What have I done to "get my money's worth" and also have the luxury of being able to use the vault in a manner that does not effect my ability to enjoy my system's full speed and capablility?

Presently, I have one Win 7 desktop, fully ugraded to NIS version 20.2.0.19.  I performed the upgrade from NIS 2012 "over the top" and have maintained both my Online and Local Vault, while things operate at less than optimum speed from the Online Vault - it is still present and current.  Since I do not care for the slow down - I utilize the Local Vault (unless troubleshooting for someone else's situation on here).

One of my other systems is a Vista laptop with NIS 2012 running on it.  I reverted back to NIS 2012  (from NIS v 20) shortly before I went on vacation the beginning of Nov so I was "sure I'd have access to a Local Vault" while on the trip.  At that point in time I wasn;t sure what Norton was going to do which may break the Local Vault on NIS v 20.   At present I do not have an Online Vault availabIe because it tells me it was set up on a newer version of the program (NIS v 20).  No big deal in my eyes, as I know how to get back to NIS v 20 and still have Local Vault and the Online Vault will also work once again with that upgrade.   I have left things as they are to be able to do a bit of troubleshooting in NIS 2012 on the forums.

So that is how  I have decided to handle the current temoprary (hopefully) setbacks with ID Safe. It took a bit of work, but I do have everything I need to use to meet my desires.

Is it right for everyone?  No - but it is right for me and that's what counts.  I got what functionality I desire, the speed I desire and as some folks still desire - my Local Vault.

So I guess it's to each their own - but I can tell you, I am still trying to figure out why folks  just don't do one of the few things they are capable of in order to make their ID Safe work to suit their needs - at least until Norton figures it out.

I have believe that when you pay good money for a product.  It should work.  Norton did not suffiently test the product.  They should give us all a 3 months extra subscription for FREE.  The other thing is that customer service is non existant.  They should be telling us what is going on.  They should tell us that a fix should be out soon.  Give us an eta.  Furthermore since it is not working properly IS IT REALLY "SAFE".  I will agree that this is typically the best AV, but my faith in norton not very high.

I'll put my 2 cents in, I've been using Lastpass since it came out a few years ago, yes it costs some per year, kinda cheap, but it has never failed. It can be setup to require 2 factor id, that's how mine is, requires a finger on a plugged in and mated usb device.

I only started using Nortons password service as a backup, it's not as good as Lastpass, and remember to backup those passwords.
