Online Back Up storage space issue

I hope you can help - I used to have Norton 360 and 25GB space. I then received messages saying not enough storage, even though a full back up had never successfully occurred. So I bought 5GB more storage, same message, so I bought a further 5 GB.

I tried deleting all files in back up sets, deleting all back up sets, deleting computers, uninstalling online back up and reinstalling, to no avail - with 35GB I still did not have enough storage.

Today I upgraded to Norton 360 Premium with an extra 25GB storage and hoped to put an end to the problem.

I have absolutely nothing backed up that I can find and yet apparently 46% of 62GB is used. I am very confused. I only want to back up 30GB of photos and music, so theoretically it will fit on, but where is the rest of my space?

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Online Back Up storage space issue

Hello carington3094,

I took a look at your account and the quota was off. I have refreshed to quota and it is now showing correctly. If you are still seeing all the space used on your N360 please restart your machine and that should fix the problem. If not please feel free to send me a private message and I will reply as fast as possible.

Re: Online Back Up storage space issue

I don't know, but this sounds like the same issue.  I have two devices assigned to online backup.  One shows 25.38 GB used and the other shows 47.98 used.  However, the status shown at the top right of the screen shows 92% of 100 GB has been used.  The 25.38 GB plus 47.98 GB should total 73.36 GB, not 92 GB, right?

Re: Online Back Up storage space issue

bwake,

That is not always the case, there is a 90 history that effects that space used as well. So if you removed files from your computer they are not backing up any longer. the backup history still keeps that data for 90 days from the last time it was backed up. This could be what is causing your issue. If you can send me a private message with your norton login email I can check this for you though. Please remeber for future post, if the post is not yours and you are having the same problem please make a new post.
