Re: online backup help

To purge old backups from N360 please follow these directions:

 - Go to start and open My Computer(XP) or Computer(Vista, Win7).
 - You will see a drive listed as "Norton Backup Drive", open this drive.
 - Here you will see your old as well as current default backup sets.
 - To verify the difference between the sets and so you don't delete your current backup set change your view to detailed.

Example:
Norton Backup Drive\DefaultSet from this computer on Secure Online Storage
Norton Backup Drive\L-######-A on Secure Online Storage

After determining which of the sets you no longer need you can highlight the desired backup set to remove and hit your delte key on your keyboard.

Please be advised that once you hit delete the server will delete your files from that backup set and they will not be retreieveable.

Also please note that if the backup set is large (Many GB's) it may take some time to complete.

Re: online backup help

Sorry that does not work. When I go to start and click on my computer in windows 7 it does show nortons. However, when I click on Nortons backup there it goes to C drive. It does not show me any of the backups as you said it would. I even tried to right click on the nortons backup there and again no backups it just offered me a chance to explore. I clicked on that and again it took me to the c drive. When I got into the C drive both times there was no way I could find my backups there. Now what?

Re: online backup help

You are in the correct place.  The data is backed up in your original folder structure, so if you were backing up data from your C drive the first level you would see is C.  Like wise if you have a secondary hard drive that is labled D that was backed up, you would see that in there as well.  You can verify the folder path of where you are looking at in the address bar of the window.

Please see the picture I posted in my profile for an example.

Re: online backup help

Posted in thread for easier access:

Note when you go to Computer within Windows 7 you should see a drive called Norton Drive. Once you open it you'll see the sets as referenced above. If you don't see Norton Drive or its blank it likely means your computer isn't synced to access the history. If that is the case I'd suggest contacting support directly at www.norton.com/chat so they can perform a live remote session and help fix the issue.
