Online Vault?

I recently updated to NSS 6.2.0.9 (Comcast version of N360) and want to use Identity Safe in my Chrome (20.0.1132.17) browser. When setting up Identity Safe I see no option to create an online vault. Local Vault is fine, Online Vault no options.

Is this feature not available for NSS?

Hi,

NSS does not have that feature. NIS and360 have it.

Sorry

Ouch, I was under the impression that only backup was disaled in NSS. Hopefully all the protections are enabled,

A bit of information if I may.  Backup is not disabled in NSS.  There is just not any online storage space provided by Norton.  The Backup function still works if you are saving to an external drive (or even an internal drive) - just not in the cloud.

Also it is true there is no option for an online vault in ID Safe.  Without going into it deeply, lets just say that the Norton Account is what makes those functions (online backup & online vault) available and as a NSS user, you do not have a Norton Account, as your subscription is handled by Comcast.

You voiced concern about "Hopefully all the protections are enabled"  I can tell you this, you are receiving the same full protection with up to date definitions etc. that Norton offers to it's commercial customers.  There is no difference between any of the defiintions, protection, etc used by commercial customers and Comcast customers.

Hope that clears things up for you.

Uh, yes it does. However, "out of the box" NSS shows backup as disabled. Seeing that implies it is non-functional, not click here to enable.  I'm happy with my current backup software so I never even clicked on NSS's.

With Identity Safe I was hoping to get my password management under one roof for my PC and Android devices. But I'll keep looking since there is no online vault in NSS. And apparently no true syncing between devices even if it was included.

And yes, Yank, that clears things up nicely! And thank you for your reassurance that the other security features of NSS are active.

Enjoy the holiday!

If you are on NSS Version 6 and did an over install - all of your settings and ID Safe Data from the version 5 should have been saved for the upgrade.  That my be why when you first looked at that section in V 6 ibackup was disabled - from your previous settings.

It doesn;t really matter, but  I know for a fact the normal initial install of NNS does in fact have the Backup enabled.  I also use another backup program and I had to turn backup off when I install it from scratch ( as in a clean install without saving previous settings).
