Only one login allowed

I have two applications that require a login on my website.  One of them is a Gallery application for photos and the other is a Wordpress journal.  For both my username is Admin.

Norton Identity Safe doesn't just WARN me that I'm using the same username.  It STOPS me from creating a second login.

Both applications have different url's and different passwords.  I set each one up quite distinctly.  So I either have two different names or a single name and password.  The second option is a clear reduction in security.  Both these applications have associated databases that require an Admin login which, whilst it CAN be changed, really makes little sense.

I've been a Norton customer for many years.  Because of this, a few other Norton 360 gripes and the shambles that is NU16 then it'll be the last.

Re: Only one login allowed

Hi AndySuk,

I've played with the new ID safe and it drove me nuts also with the - user name already used etc - but here is what you need to do.

Edit the log-ins:  Once you get to the Edit page, in the Title block (the top block), change the ADMIN to "ADMIN Gallery" and use "ADMIN Wordpress" for the other if you must use ADMIN.  I'm guess right now you have the same "Title"  for both logins.   I use the same username on numerous log-ins and as long as the TITLE is different - there is no problem.

Let us know if I am out in left field on what I am thinking is happening.

Hi AndySuk,

I am sorry to hear of the problem you are having with Identity Safe and my comments below do not address that directly and I hope you will take them in the spirit intended.

If you are accessing Wordpress or any other websites as an administrator, I strongly urge you NOT to use Admin as a username.  By using Admin as a username, you are reducing your site security against a brute force attack by 50%.

The first line of defense for any website is a unique administrator user name and very strong password.

Best Wishes.
