Phone Scam

Today received a phone call from 0002020120049  stated they were Norton and that my PC had been 'compromised' I hung up and Googled the number and found this was a scam. It seems this has been going on for quite a few years.

Re: Phone Scam

And it is not just pretending to be Norton. Scammers call and pretend to be all kinds of companies and organizations. There are many calls pretending to be Microsoft and saying there is a problem with your system.

No one can tell from outside your computer what is on it or may be wrong with it.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Thanks for the reminder about these calls, or on screen popups. They are so common these days and from all sorts of strange phone numbers too since they can spoof those to hide what they are really using.

For US calls the 800Notes website is very good to know about.
