A pop up Slimclean or CCleaner shows up. Is it related to you? They keep wanting torun a scan

This popup insists I need a scan, my drivers are out of date, Norton has all sorts of errors etc.  I want to delete them from my programs but not until I am sure they are not related to Norton

hi Sheena

Without knowing the name or seeing exactly what you are seeing it seems that a Potentially Unwanted Program (PUP) may be installed. It sounds like one of those Registry Cleaning Programs or Program claiming to be able to update your drivers there are numerous of such programs.

If you are not certain and whilst many of these types of programs can be uninstalled you may wish to have somebody who is used to doing this to assist.

You may wish to visit one of the sites listed in the thread below, register with the site, post your problem where a trained experienced volunteer will assist:

CCleaner is a legitimate program which is used by many people without problem but if downloaded from the wrong site can install unwanted programs even the main Piriform site often includes a download of Google Chrome. Slimclean sounds like one of the programs noted above.

I have used Ccleaner for years wth no problem.

You should download it direct from the company website.
