Post Here about Sign - In Issues to Identity Safe Only Please.

My post is not a question as much as a "lesson-learned" about Identity Safe.  I had a Identity Safe sign-in issue last week when I tried to open my Password Vault.  By the way, I normally use my PC as a Standard user and not as an Admin.  I use Google Chrome as my browser, so I launched Chrome and then clicked on the "Open Vault" button.  The Vault would walk me through the sign-in process, I would enter the correct password, but then the Vault would take me back to the sign-in page without unlocking the Vault.  I repeated this process several times (I'm a slow learner) before I realized I was not going to get into my Vault.  So, my next step was to open Norton Security, click to the Identity Safe screen and tried to log in there.  Same result - - no go.  I then got the bright idea to log out of my Standard User account, and I logged into my Admin account.  Once there, I launched Google Chrome and had NO problem signing into my Vault.  I then logged out of my Admin account and went back to the Standard User account.  When I tried to open my Vault this time, It WORKED!  No problems.

My moral to this story is:  it seems to me that Norton will sometimes (not all the time) make updates to its software that will REQUIRE you to be in Admin mode BEFORE all of the updates are applied.  This is not the first time I have seen this happen with Norton updates, but it is the first time it impacted my ability to open my Vault.

Hi usmgrad70, thanks for the feedback, how about the acid test - reboot and see if you can login on the non-admin account.....or does the Vault stay open through the reboot?

I did do a reboot before I logged into my Admin account, but could never get into my Vault.  However, once I logged into my Admin account and successfully opened up my Vault, I have had NO problems accessing the Vault in my Standard User account, although I do have to re-sign into the Vault any time I reboot.

That won't help me with this issue.  Against best practice I only use a Windows Admin account.

I use an Admin account always and that is not the issue. I have been having this same problem and was able to solve it once with repeated turning off and on of Identity Safe and repeated logging in and repeated LiveUpdates and repeated reboots. (About an hour). Chrome on 8.1. I use Identity Safe for work and this is unacceptable. Embarking on a new set of operations now.

One thing I have noticed is that I have to execute repeated LiveUpdates in Admin mode especially after Microsoft has issued updates to Windows 7 for me to be able to sign into Identity Safe and my Vault.  Hope this helps.

I am still having trouble with my log-in to ID safe as it wants me to log in to my account first sometimes but that never works so then I have to do a restart which works most of the time. I am on win10 and Norton Security with backup and the browser doesn't seem to matter!

Windows 7 Ultimate X64. Admin User account.  I open NIS and it shows me logged into my account,

I open Identity Safe, and it wants me to log into the Norton Account, then it sends me verification code to my phone, I enter that and it returns to me wanting to log into my Norton Account again.

I have two other laptops running NIS with Windows 10 and there is no issue on those.

This has just been occurring since Sept 22. Not really a browser issue I would think, as I directly try to open using NIS itself and it doesn't work.

Came here looking for answer and thought I would post my situation.

Open Nortons . Click the top of the box where your email address is and opt to sign out. Sign back in again and now try your identity safe and it should work, Kevin

I am having the same problem.  It keeps taking me back to the sign in page.  I have logged out of Norton.  Restarted my PC.  Applied all Norton and windows updates for Win 7.  Changed my Norton password and still can get logged in.  I even changed my ID password.  Now every time I log in the first time it reject my password.  Type the same password in plus the stupid visual code and it logs me in but wont open my vault.  Please fix this problem!!!

Yes I understand I have the two step Verification, but even after entering the code in NIS itself it always comes back to this

Yet to log into this site, the verification went fine. So its not the sign in that's the issue. 

It is issue with logging into my vault in Identity Safe, and only started a week or so ago.

Yes thats exactly what happens to me is as pictured in above post.

I am already signed in, and even if I sign out,  I must do my two step verification. Not sure why as I have used this computer for 7 years now haven't changed any hardware.

So even after doing the two step verification, I am unable to log into the vault as the 'Get Started' appears again.

Also have this problem, a continuous loop of "Get Started Screens"

Browser & Version Google Chrome Version 45.0.2454.101m
Norton product & version: Norton Security with Backup Version 22.5.4.24

Will not allow me to log in to Identity Safe via the Norton Toolbar in Chrome. Tried logging in and it's a continuous cycle back to Get Started and asks me to log in again.  I am able to log into Identity Safe via the website https://identitysafe.norton.com/.

Hello John

What is the Norton Toolbar version you are using? Did you receive the newest Toolbar for Chrome? Have you tried logging out of your Norton program, restart, log back into Norton product open up Chrome and try to log in then.

I signed out of the Console window in NIS, then opened IE Explorer and signed into the vault that way.

Now in the Console I am signed in as well and my vault is open. No more loop so for with the Get Started window.
