Potential phishing email

I received what looked like a legitimate email with several embedded links.  I inadvertently clicked on one of the links to bring up a website described in the email but when nothing happened, I suspected I received a phishing email. When I right clicked on the link, it did not look like a legitimate link.  Now I'm worried that I may have installed some malware on my PC. What should I do?  Will Norton Security be able to find such malware if it exists?  Will Norton Power Eraser help?

Re: Potential phishing email

Start with a full system scan with your Norton product. You could run a NPE scan, but be careful before letting it fix anything. It is a very aggressive scanner and it can detect false positives. You can post back with any detections if you are not sure of what has been detected.

Even if something did get through, the many layers of defense in Norton would stop anything if it tries to run.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Submit the URL in the link to VirusTotal to see if is malicious.
