I started purging files and it has been weeks and it will not stop purging. It's no way to cancel the purge. Should I remove the computer and add it again. HELP!
Hello all... This is the same issue posted by Angi on Jan 21. I sure hope one of our gurus sees this and can tell us what to do. Running NOBU, I started a purge 2 weeks ago that's still running, the 2nd time a hang has occurred. The first time the process choked on a 1GB folder and, after a lot of rigamarole, it unhung after 3 days, with the big folder it hung on still in the backup. I then successfully purged it a few MB at a time until the process hung again on the last mouthful. Decided to just stay logged in as much as possible just in case that helped (although purge is server-side & might run whether I'm logged in or not? didn't get an answer to that from chat). That was Feb 10 and it's still hung!
On Feb 17 I reformatted & reinstalled Win 7 for other reasons. After reinstalling NOBU, I found the purge still running and have stayed logged in as much as other activities allow, jic, hoping it'll unhang as before. I need some of the files in that backup, so removing this computer and requesting a total purge are not desirable options. Online chat was earnest but useless the first time (apparently thought there was a Stop button, etc.) so I haven't tried that again. Argh! This situation seems to indicate that a fossil systems engr (YT) is just a fossil, period.
Many thanks for your time reading this long post. Oh, fwiw, my storage count is accurate and everything has run sweetly, except for this. --Cate
