Quick and Full Scan Error

When I perform either a Quick or Full System scan, about half way thru the process, I get an error message and it says that Windows is looking for a solution and will send one if found.  Then the program closes, and I am still "at risk".  Any help appreciated!

Re: Quick and Full Scan Error

Hi @Dkatrina, I've sent you a private message requesting some log files. Can you provide us with some more details on the situation?

  • Can you send a screenshot of the error message (instructions here)?
  • When does the error message occur, when scanning a specific drive or file?
  • When you say "the program closes", what do you mean? Does the Norton product just shut down completely? Any errors appear at that time?
  • Which version of Norton Security are you running?

I apologize for the many questions, but this issue is very important to us, and any details you can provide are appreciated. Thanks again for your help.

Additionally, running LiveUpdate might resolve the issue for you. We've recently released some updates that may resolve this issue for you. Thanks.

Re: Quick and Full Scan Error

Hello.  Thanks for your reply. I've attached a screen shot of the error message I rec'v.  I am running Norton 360.  The Norton 360 icon pops up to notify me that "I am at risk and need to run a scan".  I click scan now and it runs for a while, then the attached error comes up.  I click cancel and the program closes.
