Reinstalling windows.

Hello, So I was thinking of formatting my hard drive and reinstalling Windows on my computer, The only issue is, I have Norton security and backup installed on my PC right now and i have like 3 more devices I can have linked. Is there a way I can reinstall Norton afterwards and not have to use up another one of my device slots, or is that the only option?

Shouldn't be too difficult. You could just go to your Norton management account just before reformatting and remove that device from your account. Then after reformatting reinstall Norton and use the same existing product key to activate.

Why do you feel the need to reinstall Windows? Everything is linked via your Norton account. It is not linked via your pc.

In fact if you are reinstalling on the same computer with no changes to motherboard, you should have no problem reinstalling Norton without using an additional activation.

With a format and reinstall of Windows it would be better to use the suggested method to remove the activation from the account before reinstalling.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.
