Remote Management is completely greyed out...?

As per the title. Windows 10. Newly upgraded from NIS to NS (via Norton Removal tool etc as in previous thread).

Don't understand, all looks well apart from that...? Any ideas?

Thanks,

David

Re: Remote Management is completely greyed out...?

Weird - do you by chance have a Norton Account set up and the new NS install activated through it?  Are you using an Admin Account? Is Fast Startup disabled and system has been properly rebooted.?

Shooting in the dark at the moment, as this is strange!

<EDIT> - is this the other post you are talking about?  Can we use those symptoms as to what occurred?  Did NIS really uninstall?  What is shown in Programs and Features?

Re: Remote Management is completely greyed out...?

Is it a new subscription or a trial?  I remember that Remote Management is not enabled with trials.

Have you restarted?

A little bit of knowledge is... well a little bit of knowledge.

Re: Remote Management is completely greyed out...?

I have a subscription. I had 3 seats on NIS and 1 out of 5 on NS. Last night I moved from 3 to 2 on NIS and 1 to 2 on NS.

I have restarted multiple times.

Fast Startup enabled.

Don't know what you mean by a Norton Admin Account. I'm logged in as me and I am the admin.

Norton Security shows in Programs and Features and it says Norton Security on the installed program, which, otherwise, seems to be behaving fine...

Suggestions...?????

Ta,

David

And Fast Startup on or off makes no difference... just tried it...

Came in from work, tea, sit down, calm, focus...

Let's try Norton Removal and Reinstall Tool (it worked well once before).

This time it borked and threw me out to the Norton Removal Tool which (this time) worked just fine. Restarted, downloaded NS, and off we go.

And now Remote Management is looking ok.

Phew.

Still dreading doing the other two but they can wait a couple of weeks now...!
