Remove Trial Subscription.

Hello, me again. Ok so a month ago I had downloaded and installed the trial version of NS Premium on three systems, liked it and bought a year's subscription. I got a separate serial number for the purchased version. So today the Trial subscription expired which is fine since I don't need it any longer but now every time I Log-In to "My Devices" I get the following red banner which I would obviously not like to see any longer. Anyone have an idea how I can remove the Trial subscription from "My Subscriptions" so the nag screen no longer appears ? I have deleted any licenses associated with that trial serial number but see no way to delete that expired subscription. As always thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Remove Trial Subscription.

Hello

Did you put the new key into the trial version? Restart, go to Help>Subscription Status. If the number of days left agrees with what it says on the bottom of the program, then all is OK. I wouldn't worry about that banner.

I just went to my Norton Account and under Devices, it shows that this computer which I am now using has been Offline now for an hour. I have been reading and posting in this Forum for about 6 hours now. I can't post without being online. The Norton Account does take some time before it gets things correct. It shows my new Android phone as listed for me, but there is nothing on it that says Online or Offline. It just says the phone is listed. My cellphone is definitely turned on also..

Thanks.

Re: Remove Trial Subscription.

Thanks for your response. No, the key is in the new full version. Different serial number. The number of days left is correct on all the systems I've installed NS on so far. I guess I'll just have to stay away from the "My Devices" and "My Subscription" pages. Not all my devices show in My Devices and I have to put up with the red nag banner every time I log in.

I'm not worried about the Banner. I just don't want to see it and be nagged every time I go to my account login page.

I started a support Chat session to see if they could delete the unused subscription from my account and the support person wanted to remote in to my computer which is ridiculous.

So far my experience with Norton has been a little disappointing but I've got over 350 days left so we'll see how things go.

Re: Remove Trial Subscription.

Hello Marc,

Thanks for bringing up this issue. The concerned team has been notified and they are looking into it. As per current design, this alert banner will be displayed only for 30 days.

Thanks,

Christy

Re: Remove Trial Subscription.

Hello Marc, you may want to log out of your account entirely and reboot your devices one at a time. This should allow the cloud to re-synch with all your devices.

Re: Remove Trial Subscription.

Thanks for the responses everybody. It's good to know the red banner will go away in thirty days. I can put up with it for that long.

As for the devices that don't show in "My Devices", on those two systems "Remote Management" can not be turned on. The switch simply can't be moved to the On position like it can on the other four systems that have NS installed. I was told that's why they won't show.

The solution may be to run the Norton Remove and Reinstall tool but I don't know if it's worth the effort.

Re: Remove Trial Subscription.

Hello Marc

Are you using a Windows Administrator Account when you try to change a setting in the computers? It might have just been easier to put in the new key in the trial version. That is assuming the trial was for the same program as the new key you have..

Re: Remove Trial Subscription.

Thanks for your response. Yes I'm running as Admin on all of my systems, four of which can bet set to Remote Management but two can not. The switch simply will not move to the On position. I'm going to try Remove and Reinstall on one of those systems now to see if that works. The only thing that's affected is they don't show up in "My Devices". The protection and subscription are all intact. If it doesn't work then it's not that big of a deal but I do like being able to monitor all the systems from My Devices.

I was not given a choice where to place the product key. I purchased NS Premium directly from Norton through a link in an email offering a special price and was taken to the installation process. I just assumed it would simply add the 365 days to the trial but it added an entirely new subscription. At the time I didn't think anything of it but now it's causing a bit of a mess. Again not that big of a deal but I do like things tidy.

Re: Remove Trial Subscription.

Update...I ran the Remove and Reinstall tool on one system and now I am able to activate Remote Management on that system and it's showing up in My Devices. I'll do the other one tomorrow.
