REPETITIVE Login in Chrome for Password Manager

Norton Password Manager 6.7.4.11 extension in Chrome.

Win 10  1909,. build 18363.836

Chrome Version 83.0.4103.61 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Good day;  At least since https://community.norton.com/en/forums/why-do-i-have-login-my-vault-everytime-i-open-my-browser, are people complaining about having to login password man. every time we open Chrome.  I can't believe Norton has not found a work around the problem.  Use local vault or,  some other kludge on the user machine (OS) instead of an extension would be an idea... ?   Even, ...maybe an arrangement with Chrome's management, for a solution...  ?

And now, this forum does not let me add labels, below..  Grrr.

Re: REPETITIVE Login in Chrome for Password Manager

Helo Electro. I have added some labels for you. The forums could have been having a hiccup, some test accounts were seen earlier in the day which means the dev team are most likely looking at some thing with the backend again.

Unfortunately and as other threads/post on the forums have stated the same concern. Having the PWM extension log out of the vault is a security feature that was incorporated into the Norton extensions by design. It has been requested to deter from that many times, when, if ever that will changes is to be seen. To date and to the best of my knowledge IE11 is the only browser that will allow you to remain logged into the vault until a system shutdown or restart occurs.

Chrome CAN be set to allow Chrome to run in the background, although the vault will close given a restart or shutdown of the system.

Cheers

WOW !  First helpful answer I ever found for this problem.  I'll take it, and with my express gratitude.  Now, how do I go about Chrome to run in the background on my PC ?

Thanks again Soul.

Re: REPETITIVE Login in Chrome for Password Manager

Thank you I just applied it... also 95% of the time when I click to logon to vault, it gets stock at NortonConnect2....and does not present a logon page, just blank. I consider myself lucky WHEN it works. i'm getting disgusted with Chrome, and I should go back to IE with Norton pass man, where I never had this problem. :-). Anyway when I can manage to login the vault I will use your tip. Thank you kindly.

*CloudConnect2.Norton etc....   Cleared the cache, still get the blank page.   Oh well, I'll try again later.  Thanks again.  I wish I could import all my Norton Pass Man. passwords in Chrome's password manager...

Re: REPETITIVE Login in Chrome for Password Manager

No end of problems with Norton Password Manager in Chrome.  Keeps telling to log in, and it always comes out with a blank page; I click again, it says reload page again.... then the wheel starts again  - Rinse and repeat.

I removed it completely.  Useless.  Never again.    Do NOT bother with Norton Password Manager in Chrome

But, thanks to people that tried helping.    And well, that's the end of that problem.  (Can't believe I spent days trying to resolve this.   trying to stay polite, but it is very difficult...)
