Request for Password Manager improvements

I have been using RoboForm for quite som time now, but when signing up With Norton, I thought I would make use of the Password Manager, as it is included in my Subscription. I have been testing it for a week now, so I am not very experienced yet, but I have been running into a couple of obstacles already, that I want to share, and maybe get Norton to fix in an upgrade...

- I miss the opportunity to categorize the passwords. I am used to find my passwords in a Directory With categories and sub-categories, making it possible to save different credentials for work and private use. It also makes it possible to divide the passwords into Groups and subjects, for easier Access.

- When saving a URL With a port number Attached to the server name (e.g. http://www.contoso.com:8080/blabla/) the port number tends to disappear, so, when I try to Access the site using Password Manager, I get a 404, unless I manually edit the url in the Password Vault.

- Some sites are hashing the password after accepting the logon. Password Manager doesn't see this, hence is storing the hashed password instead of the real one. The only way of fixing this, is to edit the entry in Password Vault.

- The PM is not available to IE and Opera

All of this (and possibly more if I continue to use PM) makes Password Manager unusable as a Product, to me. I may use it as a Reference, but as a password manager, it is unusable as of now. I hope Norton will have a look at this , and improve the PM. For now, I keep on using RoboForm…

I don't know about Opera, but you should be able to use it in Internet Explorer.  You should just need to enable in and sign into your Norton account, then your Vault.

I tried to install the add-on, but it just says that it is an Add-On is made for Edge. It never shows up in the Add-On list, for me to enable it. The only way to use it With IE, is to log on, open Vault, and click the links from there, and that won't work for an App login...

Hmm, that's weird.  I'm not on a machine with Norton at the moment but I'll check my other machines tomorrow.

What is your Operating System?

Thanks,
Dave

In IE, it is not an extension that gets added from any extension store. IE is still covered by your main Norton Security products NPM functions.

Click on the IE Settings icon and choose Manage Add Ons. Then you see the NPM listed in the add ons. Click on it to enable the feature.

Things happen. Export/Backup your Norton Password Manager data.

Great, thank you guys! I will try that tomorrow, and it looks like I can tick one of my issues off the list. I hope the rest is coming to a solution too. -Jan
