Secunia PSI 3.0 only works with NS Firewall Disabled Win 10

Hi Norton community.

  1. I am running PSI Secunia version 3.0.0.10004 on a Windows 10 Home PC. I am running an updated version of Norton Security.
  2. When NS firewall is enabled PSI Secunia never gets past "Scanning for outdated programs - Determining which files to scan".
  3. When I run PSI Secunia with NS firewall disabled PSI Secunia works perfectly.
  4. I found a Youtube video, that shows how to set up the WIndows 10 firewall to get it working.
  5. My question is: How do i set up the NS firewall to make it work under Windows 10 Home

I am running the same version of PSI Secunia on a Windows 7 Premium PC. And on Windows 7 it works. As far as I can see my firewall settings are the same on both PC's.

I hope someone can help.

I had Norton Firewall on AUTO and here is how it is set.

NSBU 22.5.5.14 , Windows 10 Pro 10586.11,  PSI 3.0.0.10004 and works just fine.

I'm not having that issue with PSI 2.  Hmm, odd.

A little bit of knowledge is... well a little bit of knowledge.

Hi Norton Community.

I was wrong. It was not a NS firewall issue. It was a PSI Secunia issue.

I downgraded from  PSI Secunia 3.0.0.10004 to PSI Secunia 3.0.0.2004.

PSI works again. Great!

The latest version of Secunia PSI doesn't work for me at all, can't get past the splashscreen yet ver 2 works perfectly.

Hello

Have you tried disabling the entry for that program in the Norton Firewall and then try the new version of the program and see if the program is allowed thru the Firewall. Another thing you can try is to go to the .exe file for the program and enter that .exe file into the Firewall. Then test it out.

Thanks.
