"Settings" not Accessible

On a laptop with 8.1 we cannot access the drop-down menu when clicking on "Settings" in the NS main screen.

Any suggestions?

Hi, dforrest. Have you done a full shutdown on your computer ? Norton requires it to properly update, and operate.

Try rebooting and running Live Update, until no more are found.

The Norton Remove and Reinstall Tool for NS and NSwB is not released yet, so I'm loathe to suggest an uninstall/reinstall situation at this stage.

F4E, I had reported in an earlier thread a problem with Quick Scan. This was on thread https://community.norton.com/forums/quick-scan-result

I have the same problem on a second laptop. Based on the first instance, it appears that the way to resolve it is to change the setting for running the removal of Tracking Cookies away fro automatic. This I did successfully on the first computer but cannot do it on the second because I cannot access the drop-down Settings menu.

I have tried closing down and rebooting several times but the problem remains.

Do you have Norton Security aka V22, or Norton Internet Security aka V21 ?

As I said the NRRT isn't yet available for the new NS and NSwB, but can be used on NIS and Norton 360.  http://www.norton.com/nrnr

If you are running the previous product, you may wish to try the NRRT to clean up your current copy.

If used, please read the Before you begin note, and run Live Update after, until no more are found.

I am running Norton Security.

This sittuation (not able to access the "Settings" drop-down menu) persisted for two days and then NS ran to remove a minor infection and the problem is resolved.  I can now access the settings menu.
