snmp

Recently my ISP notified me that I have an SNMP vulnerability. I have an HP desktop running Windows Home 7, with a Router connected via Ethernet cable. Occasionally I connect a Raspberry Pi. All software is updated and total Norton Virus scan doesn't detect anything. How can I find what is causing this? If I install Wireshark would this detect the SNMP? I checked Windows services, SNMP is not checked. No SNMP processes are running? Can I block SNMP in the Norton Firewall (port 161)? I noticed that Norton Firewall disabled my Windows firewall.

Success always occurs in private and failure in full view. Windows 10 Pro 64 bit Norton Core Security Plus 22.17.3.50 Core Firmware 282 I E 11 Chrome latest version.

Re: snmp

Good article, thanks. I got Norton On Line Support to help me setup the firewall to block SNMP traffic on port 161/162. Hopefully this will solve the immediate problem and I can detect where the source is coming from. Thanks again.
